For shell its the shell (old new motion) card/app. Its an awful system, tooks months to sort out a bill payment as my card had expired, no help line, no email responses, no way of paying it despite months of efforts. Finally got a contact & paid by bank transfer, so out dated!

Late winter/spring - first longer trip to South-West France - some observations ...

Excellent report! I'm glad that more & more are travelling with their EVs and reporting on their experiences. France is the easiest in my opinion at the moment, with Portugal 2nd. Aren't those French chargers easy & cheap versus the UK! You should find that charge rates in the summer are even...

    Charging across Europe

There are now lots of toll passes and environmental permits required for EU travels. I'm doing 7 new countries this summer. Swiss pass done online, but seem able to dodge the rest! Already have Crit Air

The great big insurance rip off

Disagree. Insurance companies who have restrictive deals with repairers maybe are profiting from the current slow process, aggravated by no skills regarding EV batteries (note from Cleeverly on being made to replace a perfect battery for an insurer because it had a scratch) and poor closed...

The great big insurance rip off

Just a question. When an insurance company writes off a perfectly good EV due to a scratch on the battery pack, do they then sell on the car for parts / battery for a profit?

The great big insurance rip off

No, but you could add a younger family member as a 2nd driver if it lowered your premium and then they could drive you sometimes!

The great big insurance rip off

An 86 yo adding a 56yo family member would get a reduction legally. Changing the lead driver could be illegal unless they actually are the lead driver. He could then have a 2nd driver on longer trips.

TRy adding a second driver, maybe a younger family member.

    Charging across Europe

I last got 'lost' in France, Lille in 1992. The main autoroute goes to the centre & the through route branches off! On the way to SW France, I stopped at Abbeyville, Rouen, Le Mans, Potiers, on the N10, Bayonne then Spain. In the colder weather you get slower charging speeds. I typically did...

    Everything electric London

I got free tickets! Having been to Silverstone & Farnborough, this was sold as a huge event with boats & every EV. I left after 2.5 hours of nice chats with bored stand holders. Not good as previously I'd done all 3 days . . . I gave poor feedback.

The great big insurance rip off

Just had a quote on MG4 up from £270 to £570. Clearly some extra quotes are required!

EV opposition in the media is ramping up

If I was any good with vlogging, I could have done 1367 miles to Portugal in mid-winter and 1315 miles back! Zero failed charging locations :)

EV opposition in the media is ramping up

There is 'some' truth in that. My son gets travel sickness and the EVs with harder suspension really affect him, which is why I test drove so many EVs :) really, no other reason . . . In the Polestar we didn't get far but the MG5 he's fine in. So 'some' truth that probably also applies to...

    Your EV driving records

I toured Orkney in a camper van once, was very impressed with the place! Its all relative! In Petrol cars I've done Oslo for north & Stockholm for east via the Harwich - Gothenburg DFDS ferry. My aim is simply to break my Petrol & Diesel car records with hopefully some fun & a bit of...
