    EV adoption ramping up.

Interesting that the BBC are painting a totally different picture today. Their story is mainly focussed on Tesla and the 100% tariff on Chinese cars in America though. Just shows what you can do with statistics if you don't include the whole data set...

Advice on the best charging apps & charging strategy when on a trip?

St Asaph. Haven't been there in years. When we were kids, we had an aunt and uncle who lived there, so many of our holidays were spent there. I fell in love with north Wales. :)

Advice on the best charging apps & charging strategy when on a trip?

I think the subscription is to integrate it into Android Auto to "use on the go". Mine works as a stand alone app on my phone without subscription.

Advice on the best charging apps & charging strategy when on a trip?

I usually plan it down to the inch, :) but on my unexpected journey, I thought "why not?", and decided to wing it. And I was surprised how easy it was. I suppose it could have been worse if I'd had to queue for a charger, but I didn't, so I think the infrastructure is improving.

Advice on the best charging apps & charging strategy when on a trip?

Zap-Map does have a route planner. If you go to "Routes" (3rd icon along at the bottom of the screen), you can plan your route. :) Also, if you are using Android Auto with Google maps, you can select chargers and it will show you the local chargers near your location as you drive along. This...

Advice on the best charging apps & charging strategy when on a trip?

I presume you've got the usual apps for route planning and charger locations. My personal favourite networks are Osprey and Instavolt. A little bit pricey, but reliable. The new Gridserve units are good, and of course there are the open Tesla Superchargers, which are cheap and reliable (make...

    EV adoption ramping up.

What I am noticing now is more and more commercial EV vans, which I think is really important because they account for a lot of CO2 emmissions. (And also it makes so much sense for fleet managers as they are so much cheaper to run).

    EV adoption ramping up.

A couple of good stories from Nicky this week. Oil demand is falling due to rising EV sales, and the UK is set to install record numbers of EV chargers.

    EV adoption ramping up.

When I got my first EV, Ioniq 28kWh, in 2018, I only ever saw a LEAF (just around the corner from us), a SOUL (a few streets further along), and occasionally a Model S in town. Now on my way into town, I see at least 10 EV's, MG's, Teslas, Hyundai's, Nissans, VW's, to name the common ones...

    EV adoption ramping up.

A lot of the Private Hire Cars in Weston super Mare used to be plug in Prius's. They seem to have been replaced by MG 5's and I've seen a Model S with a plate on it.

I thought I'd start a positive thread as a counter to the EV opposition thread. Time for some positive stories. :) https://www.burnham-on-sea.com/news/somerset-polices-electric-vehicle-fleet-leading-the-way-in-journey-to-zero-emissions/...

    Forced change of Dealer.

Howards MG in Weston super Mare have removed all MG signage and vehicles from the dealership. Now a 50 mile round trip to Bristol for servicing and repairs. :(

    Testing Tesla Superchargers, Bristol

I have just downloaded the Tesla app and added a payment card. When I look at the map, are only the open-to-all chargers displayed or do I have to check on Zap-Map or similar?
