    If you break down, beware!

Remember if you use a third party to service the car, they will not have the ability to carry out any MG official updates. Only MG dealers have the necessary software in order to do this.

    Upgrade of house main fuse

I had my wall box fitted to the internal wall of our garage also. The incoming cable / main fuse / meter and consumer unit are only about eight feet away. As installs go, it could not have been any easier TBH. It was great not having the tethered wall box on show on the front of my property and...

    Upgrade of house main fuse

Will a 60 amp fuse be enough ?. The simple answer to that question will depend on how and when you intend to put it’s capabilities to the test really. It is never going to be the same for any two different usage cases. Example :- The first person only charges once or twice a week, he has a “off...

    Tar spatter

All of my gardening equipment is either straight unleaded fuel or is it then mixed with a two stroke oil to run my two stroke machines. So, I always have a small quantity of fossil fuel at hand. Switching ALL of these items over to battery power units, would cost a small fortune unfortunately.

    Tar spatter

You can use a bit of that fossil fuel ⛽️ stuff on a soft micro fibre cloth to shift tar spatter. I have a petrol lawn mower, so always have some at hand in a plastic fuel canister.

    Speeding. 🙄☹

When I first started receiving driving lessons, that was over 50 years ago now. My old driving instructor offered these kind words of wisdom (with regards to my question over any margins the police may offer regarding speed signs). "Whatever number is written on that sign, is the actual speed...

    I’m in N Wales

Just spotted your question, sorry. No I have not tried the Fuuse unit as it is fairly close to home 🤣. I was not even aware that there was a unit in Bodelwyddan to be totally honest. Where is that charger located, just out of interest. Not in the grounds of the hotel below by any chance ...

    I’m in N Wales

This was the A55 rapid unit that immediately springs to my mind as well. I have a feeling it maybe the last rapid unit on the way to Llandudno ?. There is few other rapid units in the Ewloe area if you need a charge earlier. If you find yourself closer to the beach at Rhos-on- sea there is a 7...

Tesla Opening Up Supercharger Network - A BAD Idea

I fully understand that when buying into the Tesla brand, many owners (and rightfully so) thought that they had exclusive rights to the Tesla charging network. This would have been a major factor in their decision to choose the Tesla brand. I guess the first sign that things were starting to...

Tesla Opening Up Supercharger Network - A BAD Idea

Of course the article is over two years old! But I am sure you total appreciate and understand John just how slowly the government wheels take to turn! Remember that when Tesla intends to open more new sites all around the U.K. they will initially require the necessary consent etc of any local...

Tesla Opening Up Supercharger Network - A BAD Idea

Here is one article that mentions the talks that had taken place. https://oakham.nub.news/motors/reviews/tesla-set-to-open-up-uk-supercharger-network-soon-says-minister Tesla Cars and the Tesla Super Charging network are under the same umbrella but report differently.

Tesla Opening Up Supercharger Network - A BAD Idea

Opening up the Tesla units to non Tesla models, was and always will be, very controversial. Especially for the majority of Tesla owners as they believed that buying a Tesla gave them the exclusive rights to use them. Two problems here as I see it. 1. Tesla cars and the Tesla super charging...

How to use the tyre repair kit supplied with MG cars plus other makes

A full size spare is the ultimate fail safe, but even space saver is a better option than any of the “gunk” in a canister, or a tins in my opinion. They all have limited use of course, if the hole / split in the tyre is too large, or the fault is in the side wall, then the “gunk” is totally...

How to use the tyre repair kit supplied with MG cars plus other makes

I carry a large tin of Holts Tyre Weld in my car, it has similar properties as the OEM supplied canister, but with a few differences. The Holts Tyre Weld CAN be washed out of the wheel and tyre, at a later date. Many of the OEM type tyre gunks, are not easily cleaned and removed from the wheel...

Delay paying £190 car tax on EV until April 2026 (action needed before the end of March 2024)

One week ago it stated as follows :- "Taxed - Tax due "1st April 2025" after I renewed it. Below, is the screen shot taken from my latest renewal done only today ( one week later ). "Valid for 12 months from the 1st March 2024". This appears correct now I think ?. The system is currently...

Hi Ian - Thanks for the info. When I renewed my road tax last Friday ( 8th March ) it displayed a tax due date of 1st April 25. One week later I have gone back on-line and tried renewing my road tax once again. It has accepted the renewal and now states that the car is taxed for 12 months and...
