Congratulations on switching to the EV Side. The MG5 is a great choice and you will certainly enjoy owning it.

Exeter Services on the M5 has 12 of the new GridServe 350kW CCS Rapid Chargers. Faster than Tesla SuperChargers (if your BEV can handle the power).

Final jigsaw piece.... How far should I go up the Mway.

Southampton to Leeds is about 260 miles. This should easily be achieved with a single charge [edit] on the way

Final jigsaw piece.... How far should I go up the Mway.

Excellent. I have the OBD2 dongle as well. This allows ABRP to dynamically adjust its consumption values. Mine gets within a couple of % now. I will have to look at what value it is using now it has learned. Users without the ODB2 dongle can manually adjust the consumption figure to give more...

Final jigsaw piece.... How far should I go up the Mway.

You can play around with settings in ABRP to change speeds, number of charges etc. ABRP has “Alpha” settings for MG5 LR so needs more data to be more accurate on consumption. I had the same with my LR SZ. After a while it learned and as an example a drive of 520 miles to Scotland had only 3...

Final jigsaw piece.... How far should I go up the Mway.

ABRP… 2 stops totalling 30 mins. Based upon having 20% SOC at destination and 15% SOC arriving at a charger. Max speed 70mph.

    Use of Zap Map

Excellent. I used CPS just the once and it was fine. They appear to have chargers all over Scotland. Maybe only one at a time, but they are there.

    Use of Zap Map

I have just cycled around the NC500 route and there are Rapid Chargers all the way around in each village. That’s about as North as Scotland gets.

    Bike rack help

Clearly you don’t get what I am saying. But never mind. I am sure the OP will find a way to carry his bike. It will fit in the back of an MG5 with the seats down :-)

    Bike rack help

I thought the OP wanted to fit a cycle carrier, not a towbar. My insurance company has never had an issue (The AA), with me telling them I am fitting a bracket onto the rear of the car that has a tow hitch that I can attach my cycle carrier to, and not used for towing. But maybe other insurance...

    Bike rack help

It’s not the fact you are fitting a tow bar or window film that is a problem. Those type of “accessories” they have to know about because if you have an accident they have to return the car to you in the condition it was before an accident. There is a cost to them that would be additional to the...

    Bike rack help

I think we are talking about fitting a cycle rack carrier, not a tow bar? There would be no intention to tow anything. Even so, if there are no suitable mounting points then even that would be out. Are we saying we have to inform the insurance company if we fit any sort of bike carrier?

    Bike rack help

I don’t have an MG5 anymore. These people also might be worth contacting.. https://etowbars.com/Blog/Can-the-MG-ZS-EV-tow-Need-to-take-your-bikes-along-MG-ZS-EV-Towbars-now-available They mention the older MG ZS EV, so might be able to do something for the MG5. This company make custom tow...

    Bike rack help

You should be able to fit something as a bike carrier, not for use for towing. No different to the something that straps onto your boot lid.

    Bike rack help

I would fit a tow bar to mount a bike rack on. If it is possible to find someone to fit it, which is very unlikely. You could these, but no idea if they do one. https://shop.westfalia-automotive.com/towbars/mg/mg5/estate Don’t tow with it though. Just my opinion.
