    All Android users, advice please

Another +1 for vlc. We install most apps via the f-droid repository, partly because they're all free and partly because they tend to be the full versions of the apps. Works well on our cheapie (almost) no-name phones, and works especially well with voice commands. We have about 30GB of music in...

Issue with AC charging/New CCU fitted (Phase One SE LR)

This thread is making me nervous now, but so far so good for us. Goth Leo has his first birthday next Friday.

    USB Music

I know folk don't like this response, but our music collection is running to around 9000 tracks in opus format. It would be an impressive car-based music player that could handle that in any sane way as it can be pretty unwieldy. So for us, it's acceptable to have lower expectations of the car's...

    Welcome back warm weather

Don't make me drive the 1.5 miles from the Crofters' Trust office, a trip where I discovered the efficiency meter only goes as far as 20mi/kwhr. I'd rather not discuss the difference getting there, though. :)

    MG4 Roadtrip Scotland

Yeah, had a problem again with the dreaded "Access Denied" with my RFID card today but bizarrely it worked when I idly tried again. A BMW was on the fast charger next door and couldn't get it to work via the app. These are our local chargers and normally quite reliable. It's frustrating, as the...

Charge Place Scotland & Electroverse issues

 It's 21.4°C in our Stevenson screened outside thermometer here in Assynt today. As this is a CPS thread, a heads-up: I put the car on to charge in Lochinver yesterday and the destination charger said something like "Authorisation declined". I tried a few times, then had to go to an...

Charge Place Scotland & Electroverse issues

I suppose the thinking is that there are plenty of chargers in Fort William/An Gearasdan, so the distances are manageable, Ardnamurchan always being forgotten. I thought there were some at Ardgour (we have a friend nearby, but I think she charges at home).

    Balancing an LR Trophy

Someone on this forum suggested that, after chatting to a technician, one should stop worrying about how to do what, when. There may be something to that idea. Our car has just had its 1st service. We can't charge at home, so either fast-charge or occasionally use a destination charger (11kW on...

You CAN road trip an SE SR

These posts are helpful. We have just returned from a few days in Edinburgh, 250 miles south of us, and will need to go to the Borders in a few weeks, then Cumbria a few weeks after that, across to Portsoy in north east Scotland a while after that, then Glasgow towards the end of the year. It's...

    First Service Report

If it's any help, you're probably only a third more distance to Inverness than we are, here out west! It is possible that the advice re R33 has changed, as Leah was careful to say they would do any required software, and then when I collected Leo she said that yes, it was necessary to update...

    First Service Report

Thanks. Will do. EDIT: Thanks - that was very helpful. Took a while to work out how to pull down the quick LKA menu, but got there in the end. Now to decide what to set the two star keys to.

    First Service Report

A report back for info -mods - if this needs merging with other first service threads, that's fine with me. First off, one reads the horror stories some folk on the forum have regarding dealerships. We must be very fortunate, as Dicksons in Inverness has been the model of professionalism on...

    Please check your AA cover

It's linked to getting the car dealer-serviced at required intervals. In fact, I think, but don't quote me, that those who bought the 3 year service plan just get 3 years of cover.

    Please check your AA cover

After an earlier thread on AA issues. I phoned them to check we were covered. This was mainly because we have a personal plate on Goth Leo, and I wanted to be sure the AA had the correct details. They didn't, and my memory of the old number was wrong - apparently it came up as a blue Skoda!. But...

    Seat Comfort?

Been lurking on this thread a while, but just to add to the discussion, in case someone finds it handy. I'm 185cm tall (on a good day, 6'2" on a bad day :) ) so legroom is important. I am used to back pains after several hours' driving in various cars other than wonderful old Ruaridh Mor, the...

    Poor cross wind performance

The car has incredible handling, but yes, we did notice when we got it that it seemed to get side-swiped especially here where the wind can be character building. But since we replaced the factory tyres with all-seasons (discussed on this forum) that's all changed, and we don't experience that...

Can any one [charging stops at 80% although set to go to 100%]

We don't have a wide variety of different charger type experiences, but we have noticed that PodPoint rapid chargers always stop at 80% no matter what the app is set to. Other rapid we use take the car to 100% so it's not an app/car setting. Maybe that's the issue with what you are seeing?

    Something positive for a change

No, of course not. But if the brake lights come on at unexpected times, it could be seen as inconsistent driving, which can be dangerous. So I'd rather understand when the lights are likely to come on. It's just trying to be courteous.

    Something positive for a change

We live in a very rural area, with little light pollution, so yes, I wanted to test this, and it was easy to see when the brake lights came on in the rear view mirrors. I do not think it is related to percentage regen only, but mostly to actually slowing down. Having said that, on a very steep...
