I was also eligible for civil service affinity at my MG dealer in Merthyr Tydfil and yes I had the red paint and type 2 cable included but no further discount. Nice yo know that I can still get the same type of discount when I retire in less than 6 years. Once u have driven it I promise you...

    250 miles.... NOT!

In my EV5 normal range I was getting 4.3 mpkwh in the summer but now I am lucky to get 3.4. Its the cold weather and will definitely improve when it warms up a bit

    Newbie questions

Had my 5 EV now since July and as far as I am concerned it is the best car choice I have ever made, I previously drove hyundai i40s and 3 and 5 series but this to me is just as good (with regards to tech and inside quality etc). Having an EV is so much more enjoyable than an ICE car and with...

    Affinity Scheme

Yes, but its not the place of the dealership to tell you about it. The onus seems to be on you to tell them that u work for NHS or government etc

    Automatic limiting of overnight charge

The hypervolt app allows you to schedule by time and then the app actually shows you how many kwhr and the cost of it as its going in, so u should be able to guess how long it's going to take for the next time

    Affinity Scheme

It may be of some help to know that you would be eligible using affinity with Hyundai, I can't see any reason why MG wouldn't honour it - "The Hyundai affinity programme is for the use of current employees, retired employees drawing a pension or up to date members of an Hyundai Affinity partner...

    First seen the the wild

I stopped to charge at a tesco podpoint free charger yesterday and there was another MG 5 ev parked next to me. We both stayed for Just over the hour. But it will never disconnect properly on podpoint there seems no way to stop the charge alarm from unlocking the door 5 times which I don't like...

What are your rapid charging experiences with GeniePoint?

Well you are lucky..it doesn't always go that smoothly..I had quite a few bad experiences with Geniepoint and Podpoint in my first week so I feel i am now more prepared for it to go wrong and if it doesn't its a bonus. Instavolt still the most reliable (for me anyway), even though they are 40p.

    Rapid charge advice needed

Simple.- avoid Geniepoint and podpoint and go straight for Instavolt they are 40p.per kw/hr but we'll worth it. I have used them.3 times now, so Simple to use.just tap your card to start and stop.and go (lock car) have a coffee for 45 min and it will charge from 25% to 85% easily then.off you.go...

What are your rapid charging experiences with GeniePoint?

With the new podpoint rapid at tesco it failed again (twice in a week) and they take a £30 prepayment which takes days to come back into your account if it fails. Pod Point Support kept telling me they could see it charging their end

What are your rapid charging experiences with GeniePoint?

I agree instavolt is so easy and quick to.use, worth paying 40p per kw/hr. Had a Geniepoint fail 3 times last week and still waiting for the 3 x 5 to be returned to my bank account
