I know on my Pixel if I ask for a location and last used HereWeGo it will do a route on that app. I think there's voice in app but can't remember 100%

Ok. Have a go and come back and let me know because its totally fixed my issues. Running a Google Pixel 7 on a 72 plate HS PHEV in case it makes any difference

I think it's an issue with Google maps. I've installed a new maps app called HereWeGo and that's stopped Android Auto running slow

TomTom amigo is no better. Maybe worse

Just adding in that I'm also having problems. I tried using Waze and navigation has the same problem there. I briefly tried AmiGo from TomTom yesterday and will test that on my work drives today as it seemed better than Google Maps yesterday
