Can I ask, what tyres do the Xpower come with from the factory? My trophy model came with Conti's and so far they've been fine, no vibration at all up to 70mph, however I'm on 17" rims and I believe some models now come with 18's. If it was a wheel/tyre balance issue, I expect it to get worse...

It's kind of put me off upgrading to the Xpower for now, I think I'm going to hold fire until the insurance is a little more affordable.

There are quite a few other EV's with similar drivetrain layouts, permanent RWD with occasional 4WD when required. Tesla dual motor, Kia EV6, and I'm sure I'm missing plenty of the VAG branded stuff. Has there been any reports of similar behavior from these cars when in RWD only mode...

I don't know if there is a big difference in efficiency between xpower and normal models, but if it's close then it's nice to have something that's reasonably efficient with stuck behind slow traffic, but still has the performance when there is a oppotunity to use it, even if it uses more juice.

Good info, thanks. On the trophy model I've found it goes back to 'normal' drive mode when starting it up, no matter what drive mode it was left in, I imagine it may be the same on the xpower. I think I'm going to have to give the Xpower a test drive and also check that the insurace isn't silly...

I didn't know that it could be put into RWD only mode, do you have any more info about this about this? I am pretty tempted to get the Xpower, and I'd like RWD only for day to day use, and would be happy to swap to 4WD when needed. Also the autobahn is a nice place go if you ever need to...

Wait, have I missed something, is the complaint that the MG4X weighs more so it can't corner while carrying speed?

I'm not big a fan of blacked out badges, but I quite like the purple here, good complimentry colour for orange. Nice job! :)
