    Changing to aero wheels

Yes, you're right, I hadn't thought of that. Additional stopping force on the lorry would screw up my "theoretical" example above. I'll climb down on this one, complete u-turn for me ... best to be safe after all, for everyone's sake and leave the right gap ... ;)

    Changing to aero wheels

I know but not enough for an impact, provided the gap between car and lorry is greater than the distance travelled in the reaction time. The car will stop quicker than the lorry, 50m* as opposed to 120m*, say, so from the car's point there would be an initial rapid closing of the gap - but not...

What should i know before i buy?

    Don't Luscombe Leeds have any longe-range MG5s? https://www.luscombemotors.co.uk/

No, nor will the lorry ;)

    Changing to aero wheels

56mph is roughly 25 metres per second so as long as your reflexes are pretty good (= or <1 second) then example 3, or possibly even 2 above is fine … but not 1 😉

Buying second hand - what to look for

I ran my MG5 LR for 2 years on the granny charger alone (3-pin). Yes it's slow, but if you're doing less than 60 miles a day you can easily put that back in overnight ... and yes it should come with the car in a little rectangular pouch. Oh and check under the bonnet for surface rust on the...

Same here, the Polestar forum is full of pissy-pants 😉

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night ...

That's good for this time of year, only going to get better as it warms up. Yesterday I did my run to work and back (90 miles) using 30% battery (in the P*2), which equates to 22.5kWh, same as I used to in the MG5 (though of course in the smaller battery MG it was 40%).

    Ventilation / Condensation

https://rainx.co.uk/product/anti-fog/ This works ... trust me :) You will still need to put the AC / heater on a little bit at the worst of times but much less than before using this product. Amen to that (y)

Non-existent after-sales repair service means I'm going to have to sell

Waylands MG? Stories like this are one of the reasons I decided to sell ... :(

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night ...

Polestar 2, pre-owned, long-range single motor (LRSM) 78kWh with the additional 'pilot' and 'plus' packs. Lovely to drive but not without its teething troubles - mainly the 360° camera only works on days of the week with an 's' in them ;) WLTP range 338 miles - 78kWh (useable 75kWh) battery ...

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night ...

Sorry meant "25.2 kWh/100mile" which is how it's reported in P*2. I've corrected the original post ;)

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night ...

And now the reversing camera isn't working ... :ROFLMAO: Seriously though, the Polestar forums are just as full with people with issues as on here. Come back MG5 all is forgiven ;)

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night ...

First commute in the P* today and managed 25.2 kWh/100mile (equivalent to 3.9 miles/kWh) which is more or less exactly what I was getting in the MG5. Performance is the more or less the same also. But the P* does feel more premium and 'solid', although I never had any complaints about the MG5...

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night ...

Well, after 2 years and 2 months of MG5 ownership it's goodbye from me. I'll be selling the old girl next week having taken delivery of a used Polestar 2. First thing that happened in the Polestar, the infotainment crashed and needed to be rebooted ;) Just goes to show, all cars have their...

    Sticky steering in CruiseControl

Is it this you're describing? https://www.mgevs.com/threads/mg5-steering-a-concern-or-not.13711/#post-253903 It seems to me to be wind-related, i.e. I only notice it when its windy. Perhaps this car is particularly prone to side winds at cruising speed. I don't get it a low speeds ever.

    passenger wiper

It's a 'feature' of modern cars - been like that on my last 2 - where the wiper sits below the bonnet line to aid aerodynamics and styling.

    passenger wiper

Switch the car off and immediately flick the wiper switch. They will go into a vertical park mode from which they can be lifted safely. ;)

Buying second-hand MG - what cables would you (expect to) get?

Well mine came with both, but yeah, I could keep the Type-2 and sell it on here I guess ;)

Buying second-hand MG - what cables would you (expect to) get?

What about if I sell it to Motorway/Carwow/WebuyAnyCar etc.? Would they expect to get the Type-2 + granny as part of the sale (none of them have mentioned what cables come with the car).
