The only time I ever really noticed it on my ZS EV was when driving in a multi storey car park with the window down, it was very noticeable as it echoed around the concrete structure.

As long as you’re not telling CarPlay to play music (eg Spotify) it’ll quite happily let the car’s radio play. You might need to go back to the menu (press the centre button or go to “MG” in the CarPlay menu) to turn the radio on though if it’s not.

Are you using the HVAC at all? Average speed is pretty low, I still think it’s misleading to suggest that a ZS EV will regularly exceed 4mi/kWh unless you’re deliberately crawling around with everything turned off. It gives the wrong impression to new owners about the performance of their car...

Little bit optimistic - I agree that the range they're seeing is far too low but to suggest that a ZS EV will ever easily exceed 163 miles is just plain wrong.

Apps are far cheaper which is why companies didn’t (and some still don’t) rush to make them contactless. PCI controls around hundreds of unattended card readers versus one online payment gateway. The need to register an account also creates a data stream that could be of value in the future.

I had similar issues with a Tesla Destination charger in a hotel car park with my ZS. Left it plugged in for a while with the doors unlocked and it eventually burst into life - no idea why or how. Next night it wouldn’t play ball, just stuck at connected but not charging.
