Boycott Shell Fuel and Shell Recharge - Support Ukraine!

arming the other side isn't going to force Russia to stop. This is their last gasp at securing themselves from NATO. It's just bleeding Ukraine and Russia dry. Will work out fine for the west, we will sweep in for the oil and gas reserves when its over and both nations will accept anything.

Boycott Shell Fuel and Shell Recharge - Support Ukraine!

what about Yemen? what about Syria? we don't hear about those places on TV much as they aren't important to western geopolitics, vast oil and gas resources are. Russian man bad is the latest trope. We sleepwalk into wars so easily. Read some Peter Zeihan.

Boycott Shell Fuel and Shell Recharge - Support Ukraine!

No different to what we do in other nations. we are also more than happy to keep selling weapons to other nations happy to bomb civilians. the hypocrisy is mind boggling. https://theintercept.com/2015/10/07/a-short-history-of-u-s-bombing-of-civilian-facilities/

Boycott Shell Fuel and Shell Recharge - Support Ukraine!

You guys really need to turn your tv's off. I'm staggered at how brainwashed this country has become. I'm not for a minute suggesting what Putin has done is right, but the west has been provoking Russia for donkeys. Nato should have never expanded beyond Germany (as per agreement) but, pushing...

    This guy is a genius

slightly off topic but this may be useful to some of you, especially if you have more than one ev with charger ports in different locations. teslabjorn also did a review on one. https://www.chargehanger.com/

Driving Licenses - Automatic / Manual

Manuals are going the way of the dinosaurs. I learnt in a manual, and initially my Mrs did but pregnancies got in the way and she never sat her practical test. Now we are ev owners and we wont be going back to ICE she is getting an automatic licence. My kids will likely be doing the same.

Price cap going up in april (53% or extra £693)

no, but we arent transitioning from horse and cart to car. this is not an organic, market driven change but one forced by government so they need to step up to the mark if they want to hit their 2030 goal (laughable given the state of the charging network). They don't need to spend any more...

Price cap going up in april (53% or extra £693)

not really. I work in the industry and much of what has gone wrong is due to lack of strong government conviction. Nuclear is pretty much essential in a post carbon world but there has been little incentive to invest in more nukes. No incentive to invest in storage, and a discouragement in...

Price cap going up in april (53% or extra £693)

its not so much energy companies being sold off but the hidden tax that is inflation. governments cannot spend the billions they spent over the last few years without there being inflation. that combined with the reduction of fracking in the usa, and then supply contraction due to covid has then...

Price cap going up in april (53% or extra £693)

It's what happens when governments use the magical money tree. Rampant money printing (well, just numbers in a ledger) is what gives us inflation. So many extra billions globally created out of thin air, end result is inflation. Big gov spending always ends this way.

    Home Storage Battery

We are a large family of 2 adults and 7 kids. I now work from home permanently, and the kids are home educated. We do try to ensure that we have a load each of dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer (in winter) on before we go to bed to use off-peak rates. I also only charge the car off-peak...

    Home Storage Battery

This would be more around my sort of setup. We rarely use less than 20kWh daily (regularly over 30kWh in winter), but not much in the way of gas (modern terraced house with heat recovery hvac). We can fit around 4kW of panels on the south-south-westerly facing roof that can't be much off 45...

Octopus Go Rates Updated - 7.5p

energy firms warned both labour and tory govs about coming issues but govs prefer to kick the can down the road. Its also why so many firms collapsed. There were no real incentives to build nukes, no real incentives for energy storage (both gas and electric), this is a must have with...

Which is Greener - Electric or ICE?

will connect some. there are lots of growing villages south of manchester all linked to the city via rail. plenty that arent.

Which is Greener - Electric or ICE?

I will agree on personal ownership of cars in bigger cities. A few of my colleagues in Manchester don't drive and have no need to drive. Where I live though it's a different story, public transport is abysmal. Autonomous taxis might work but not for those living rurally. Working from home needs...

    ChargePoint £10 extra charge

It annoys me too, but I reason it's only a tenner (wouldn't even tickle the diesel tank of my van). It's likely because it's cheaper for them to have fewer card transactions as all merchants pay transaction fees with cards. This way it's one charge to load your account. I agree with them...
