    Key battery warning

I changed my battery in the keyfob last month. 3 years and 3 months. Nothing is stored in the key, just a code to open the door and validate the car start etc...

    Octopus Intelligent Go says No

When I applied, the negative reply was because my charger was not compatible, the one Octopus installed for me...!!

    DAB +

I would assume the radio will still be broadcast on the present DAB system. Like FM is. Will there be a need to have a DAB+ radio??

Don’t you just love the guessometer?

I would think the GOM bases its "Guess" on the Miles per KW in the Accumulated trip figure. If you zero that, the "Guess" goes back to the MG default figure.................. Yes/no???

Don’t you just love the guessometer?

My experience on the MS ZS EV MK1 is that the GOM is not based on the last 15 minutes' worth of driving. I regularly do a motorway journey of 50 miles there and back. Thus if the GOM is working on that last 15 minutes, it should predict a reasonably low mileage left in the tank. But I find that...

    Gridserve Rapid Charging Issue

Personally, I have never had a problem with Gridserve. They are putting several chargers in popular places. And they are sooo much better tan Ecotricity..

    Updated Octopus Go Charging Costs

My Octopus Go ran out last month. They have put me onto Octopus Flexible, and now I pay 34p/Kwh. And no cheap rates. I have asked several times to go back to Go, but the web page just runs me around in circles. Even at 34p, a weekly fill up is still in the order of £12, which is pretty cheap...

Charging to 100 % on 7 kW home charger.

I fully charge my ZS every time, maybe once a week. You do need to balance the batteries, and the range is little enough without only partly charging the battery. Battery degradation is really a very minor consideration. It will be several years before you notice much difference, by which time...

    Battery Longevity

I don't think battery replacement is a realistic option. The rest of the car will probably be only good for the scrap heap then, and most likely well out of date technically. My first EV was the little Citroen Zero. 10 years old when I sold it, still with a workable battery. I reckoned it would...

    Rapid charger experience

My first EV, a Citroen Zero stopped at about 80%. I have only ever gone up to about 95% on the ZS, when on a rapid charger, and a long journey ahead.... Otherwise when using a rapid charger, I tend to take whats needed to get home, with a reasonable margin...

    Help: Rapid chargers nightmare

Can't help, but it is a nightmare. If I have the similar problem, I do usually ring up the provider, their phone number is usually/always on the charger, and see what the problem is. My last failure was when I had changed a Debit card, my fault as I had not updated the app. There are too many...

% battery remaining unchanged for 10 miles after charging

The voltage in the battery matches the charger whilst on charge, or nearly anyway. Can only advise from experience with lead-acid batteries, true voltage can only be seen 30+ minutes after a charge. Thus the mileage on the EV is calculated using voltage amongst other values, so will be high...

    Bumper scratch scuff and mess

Aaaa, did not realise it was a lease type car. Is it not insured fully comp?? In the end, £500 is just that, over three years its not a massive hit...Good luck, and keep the wife...:-)

First real long-range journey in my MG5 LR ... Some observations

Yes ref the queue for the charger, get out of the car and go and chat with the car on the charger. He/she might know who is next as a result. If there is more than one waiting, go and find another charger if you can. Alternatively get Tesla and use their multi chargers at m/w sites..:)

Looks like I picked the wrong time to give up diesel ...

What car is your EV? If you look at the Miles/KW, then divided that into the £0.32, and that will give your your fuel cost per mile. Should still be reasonably competitive with ICE, AND you are not polluting the streets...:-)

    MG5 Balance charge every time?

That's the only way to do it. Plug and leave....I'm it's master not it's slave so to speak. :-)

    Phantom charging incident

I have had that problem twice. Once at traffic lights (not charging at the time!), and once after a rapid charge on the M4. I find it can get its kni****s in a twist if switched off and back on too quickly. Think computer, switch off and wait for 10 seconds...In desperation disconnect the 12v...
