People keep saying that things run off the 12v battery, which they do, but the point is the 12v battery is charged from the HV battery, so basically even the wipers are using HV battery power!

The main point of the heated seats is they draw about 40 watts, whereas the heating uses about 3000 watts. So the both use power from the HV battery, but the heated seats make very little difference to range.

You would actually be better on KERs 1 on motorway trips, if you slow down you have to use power to speed up, and the power gained in slowing down is far less due to inefficiency! It's best to sort of float along looking ahead and trying to avoid slowing down and speeding up.

There was a driver's door wiring recall for the ZS. Might be worth checking yours has been done.

I think traveling at 55mph on the motorway in a car is causing HGVs to have to pull out to overtake as they're restricted to 56mph. You should speed up a bit to prevent this. I note that in my MG5 the Speedo is spot on, whereas all my previous ice cars have been about 10% too fast. So...

I have the Wickes extension lead, and use it on my MG5. The Granny lead is very thick, but I found it easy to trim the rubber seal on the extension lead using some sharp nail scissors (pointed with narrow blades). The lead now fits really well with a good seal.

An 11kw charger will only charge the MG at 3.5kw, as it's 1/2 the current!

Unless your ZS predates 1986 it is still a failure! "Vehicles presented with converted halogen headlamp units first used on or after 1 April 1986 will continue to be failed."...

Does your ZS not charge when unlocked? My MG5 will re lock the cable and resume charging if I unlock it and open a door.

When I used a PodPoint at Tesco in Hunstanton, it had instructions telling you to unlock the car, remove the cable from the car, then unplug from the PodPoint. You need to unlock using the button on the key, then immediately remove the cable from the car, or it relocks the cable and continues...

You'll need a 32Amp 7.2KW one!

I seem to remember there was a recall for the ZS EV for the wiring loom in the driver's door. I have an MG5 so I'm not certain, but I am pretty sure there was! It might be worth a search in the forum Found it:

I use one of these for wireless AA in my MG5, and it works flawlessly. I had to wait a while for it to arrive, but well worth it in my view.

Well at least they've got a used MG5 LR for a bargain £36k!!

I think looking at the current MG website and interpreting what's there to a special low mileage service deal that is no longer available is wrong. I haven't seen the terms of the low mileage service deal, and I'm sure most of us haven't. I would suggest that someone who has purchased one read...

I guess it's geography mainly! My son has his ZS serviced in Lincolnshire, where it's much cheaper than the North London commuter belt area where I am!!

I paid £124 for a 1st service at my nearest dealer (Palmers Hemel). This is for 1 hours labour. I think this is fair and reasonable, and is a fraction of the service costs of my previous Skoda TSi, or my Prius! I want the dealer to be there next year, rather than charge less!

I read that and assumed punctures were a higher percentage of callouts for EV's as everything else is reliable! I guess for an ICE they have lots of other faults to deal with. ☺️
