13a socket

A **13A socket** is a type of electrical power outlet used primarily in the United Kingdom and some other countries that follow the British Standard (BS 1363). It is designed to supply up to 13 amperes of current at 230 volts AC. The socket has three rectangular pin holes—live, neutral, and earth—and connects to a corresponding 13A plug. These sockets often include built-in safety features such as shutters and sometimes switches to control power flow.
