anti-pinch system

An **anti-pinch system** is a safety mechanism designed to prevent injury or damage by detecting an obstruction during the closing motion of a moving component—such as a car window, sliding door, sunroof, elevator door, or powered gate—and automatically stopping or reversing the motion.

For example, in power windows of vehicles, the anti-pinch system senses increased resistance (such as when a hand or object is caught) and immediately reverses the window to prevent pinching or crushing.
