efficiency
Efficiency is the often measurable ability to avoid wasting materials, energy, efforts, money, and time while performing a task. In a more general sense, it is the ability to do things well, successfully, and without waste. In more mathematical or scientific terms, it signifies the level of performance that uses the least amount of inputs to achieve the highest amount of output. It often specifically comprises the capability of a specific application of effort to produce a specific outcome with a minimum amount or quantity of waste, expense, or unnecessary effort. Efficiency refers to very different inputs and outputs in different fields and industries. In 2019, the European Commission said: "Resource efficiency means using the Earth's limited resources in a sustainable manner while minimising impacts on the environment. It allows us to create more with less and to deliver greater value with less input."Writer Deborah Stone notes that efficiency is "not a goal in itself. It is not something we want for its own sake, but rather because it helps us attain more of the things we value."
I know the mi/kWh in winter should be worse. But since my last charge to about 80%, it estimated about 3.4 miÔ/kWh and I had covered about 50 miles and it was about 38%. I then charged to about 86%. Just didn’t sound right to me so I broke out the calculator.
Ok so I charged with 29kWh and...
Anybody been checking petrol use and relation to the advertised 55.4mpg ?
Have just completed 750 miles since new mainly around town and haven't managed to get above 43mpg
Just at my 1 year of ownership so thought I would post some stats:
Total miles: 6003
Total energy costs: £447.07
Cost per mile: £0.07
Total energy used 2181.23kW
Best GOM estimate: 238 miles
Worst GOM estimate: 181 miles
Best efficiency: 3.6 miles/kWh
Worst efficiency: 2.2 miles/kWh
Number...
I'm very happy with our purchase of 2023 ZS EV Trophy long range...
MG state a 440 km range but to my surprise even with 50% charge it was still showing 236 km range. Have seen as low as 14.4 kWh / 100km.. Only charged once to 100% and was displaying 463 km. Dec 2024: lately full charge 100%...
Something that puzzles me. Why would MG choose an axis scale that goes from -20 to +80 miles per kWh? 80 miles per kWh would give a range of 6,000 miles!!
Hello.
I'll be using this thread to share information with you about my MG4, and at the same time I'll use it for myself, for keeping track of its mileage, etc.
As a small introduction, I got my MG4, new from the dealership, at the beginning of June 2024.
It is a MY23 MG4 Standard (with the...
Why not display miles travelled per battery % used (M/%U) rather than M/kWh? Then the remaining range displayed can be a calculation of M/%U x remaing_battery_% (M/%R) ? Much simpler and in my experience, accurate.
Thoughts?
I noticed this earlier in the year and been waiting on long drive to confirm, if those dash stats are correct then my battery has quite a lot less capacity than it should.
The car is a 2023 ZS facelift, short range LFP battery.
On a long run I'm only getting an actual battery capacity of about...
I've finally ordered my Volcano Orange MG4 Trophy LR and after test driving an MG4 this week I have some questions. I think it may be useful to understand the driving style I am coming from as I suspect I will need to change.
My former sports car driving self would be surprised to learn that...
Hi new owner here. I've bought my mpg3 hybrid cause l liked the mpg, I've done 100 miles so far but my mpg is only 49mpg what number of miles should I do to start getting the advertised mpg ps. I'm not a fast driver. Thanks
So ive been using Custom driving move with these settings:
Eco horse power, light wheel turning...
Regenerative level 3...
Always on AC (too hot in here) ...
This car model 64 kWh battery is supposed to have 450 km capacity... But in reality it can only be used 20% to 80% to maintain its...
When I was a nippa many cars were fitted with an overdrive gear activated by a switch on the gear stick or a stalk. It gave you a higher cruising gear. Has anyone seen anything like this in an EV? With a reduction gearbox and buckets of torque available in every EV it would seem an efficient way...
I hope you are all enjoying the OTA update that unlocks 20mls/kWh mode. It's been very effective today, if you haven't got it yet run down to your dealer and get it installed:
Ok, I jest, but did enjoy the 4.6 mile downhill run from Quernmore to Lancaster today. Still working on getting the...
I appreciate others have done it, but I got there for the first time today in my ER. Set off from Chester at 100%, with a GOM of 327 miles. 76 miles to Ludlow in the morning and 327 more to Norwich later in the day. Arrived with 8% ‘in the tank’. My wife and I shared the driving and the boot and...
The trip to the gym;
The trip home;
That is quite a difference. The trip home is slightly uphill, as well as being a minute quicker and 2mph more, but 27.4 mpg more is a lot. Overall, the car indicates 58.9 mpg and has done so for weeks now, no matter what driving we do.
Hi, i noticed that when i charge my 64kWh to 100%, the discharge is not normal. For example, at 100% a 20km trip can take 4%.
And from 80% the same trip can take 7-8%.
This is normal? Should I do an SOH test?
Finally found the sweet spot for consumption in my MG4…Sport mode with Adaptive Regen.
Regardless of the type of roads driven - town, B roads, A roads and motorways that combo delivers by far the best returns for me. Easily getting over 4m/kwh in most situations (with the better weather of...
Having driven (MG5 FL) from west to South London (mainly south circular!) & back. That's 34miles (including 2 stops) and (yikes!) no queues. However, Sadiq controls the GL area (20mph limits) so the average speed was 13mph? As to miles per kWh the car indicated 5.5. Sounds good, but a little...
