one-pedal driving

One-pedal driving is a feature found in many electric and some hybrid vehicles that allows the driver to control both acceleration and deceleration using only the accelerator pedal. When the driver lifts their foot off the pedal, the car automatically slows down—often quite strongly—through regenerative braking, which also helps recharge the battery. Pressing the pedal again increases speed as usual. This reduces the need to use the brake pedal in most driving situations, making driving smoother and potentially increasing energy efficiency.
