Tyre (; Arabic: صور, romanized: Ṣūr; Phoenician: ??, romanized: Ṣūr, Greek Tyros, Τύρος) is a city in Lebanon, one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world, though in medieval times for some centuries by just a tiny population. It was one of the earliest Phoenician metropolises and the legendary birthplace of Europa, her brothers Cadmus and Phoenix, as well as Carthage's founder Dido (Elissa). The city has many ancient sites, including the Tyre Hippodrome, and was added as a whole to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1984. The historian Ernest Renan noted that "One can call Tyre a city of ruins, built out of ruins".Today Tyre is the fourth largest city in Lebanon after Beirut, Tripoli, and Sidon. It is the capital of the Tyre District in the South Governorate. There were approximately 200,000 inhabitants in the Tyre urban area in 2016, including many refugees, as the city hosts three of the twelve Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon: Burj El Shimali, El Buss, and Rashidieh.
I took my Trophy for its second service this week, my first visit to an MG dealership for such excitment (I bought it pre-loved so the first service was undertaken in someone else's ownership).
The garage recommended that I might need new rear boots next year, to which my response was "No...
I've done over 30,000kms now and am thinking about what tyres to replace the original Bridgestone Turanza T005 that our "Long Range 77" (aka Trophy ER) came with.
My primary concern is energy efficiency. This is our "long distance trips" car and so distance on a charge is the key metric.
Yes I...
I think I'm posting this as much for myself as others !
Remember, this is a car that weighs circa 2 tons.
Easy to overdo it on a greasy road.
Similar in weight to a 70s Rolls Royce, which was a hefty car. Fortunately tyres and brakes have improved.
Mine arrived inflated well above the recommended 37PSI. I've never had a car need 37PSI before and I've never had a car with only one pressure listed on the door plate for all conditions!
Does anyone know if the tyre pressures can be viewed through the infotainment screen, if it is possible can you share how to please. On the ZS hybrid+ I had previous to this it was possible. Many thanks.
Sold my MG5 so I no longer require this. Never actually needed to use it in my four years of ownership but it was good insurance nonetheless. Having a full size spare means you can return immediately to unrestricted use following a puncture so is superior to a space saver. Have to admit that I...
Planning on using my MG5{pfl}16" wheels with winter tyres this year. Then 'thought' does the smaller wheels affect the speedo mileage readings on Facelift model?. Did I hear correctly that this would increase range?
I got a multifit after-market spare rim from Bob Jane as a full size spare for an Excite 51. The load rating of the spare rim is 581kg. The load rating of the factory supplied rim is about 670 kg. Is the load rating of the new spare rim ok for an Excite 51?
The owner manual indicates that you power off and lock the car for 25 minutes after changing tyre pressures and then drive for 15 minutes. Is there no reset process? Am used to hitting a reset button on my previous cars 😊
I kept this OSF tyre in case I got a puncture but no longer need it, please let me know if you would like it? I would not recommend putting it on the front but might keep you going for a bit on a back wheel if it matches your others. Please note that the tread is quite low, maybe 4mm or 5mm? as...
Hi all,
New here. Just took ownership of a trophy hybrid plus, quite enjoying the drive so far. I tend to run all season tyres as i visit other places that may need 3 peak marking. I notice the 195 55r16 isnt very common. Both crossclimate and vector4 season offer this size but it’s quite abit...
I ordered my S5 yesterday. I keep a spare tyre in place of the compressor in my ZSEV and want to do the same. Although there is a circular impression on the underside of the boot floor cover it doesn't look like the compressor holder is designed to be removed, except perhaps with tools.
Has...
Does anybody know how 'accurate' the dates on the tyre weld is?
Mine has a date of 22021124, which I assume is November of 2022, and a label saying 'Warranty Period: onboard 3 years'. As my car is just over 2 years old from new, I am assuming that means it is good for at least another year...
Hi,
If I don't have TPMS sensors at my winter tyres.. what kind of alert I will get?
Is it a continuous alarm and beep keep sounding all the time? Or does it only happen once when the car starts moving?
By the way: Is the alloys size 5x112 and 57,1 ?? Many after market store do not recognize...
I am getting a Dynamic Red GT and looking for Scratch and Dent and Alloy Wheel Insurance. Any recommendations for companies that cover the Cyberster? I used ALA for my last car but they would not offer the Scratch and Dent policy as I had a pearlescent paint (Daytona Gray).
Hi,
Can official MG5 tyre pressure sensors be bought individually or just in packs of 4?
Just back from a very unsatisfactory 4th service with my official MG5 garage in Ireland. I originally booked my 2021 pfl MG5 in because the warning light for ONE failed tyre pressure sensor came up on my...
Hi
I use my MG5 2023 as a taxi and have done 55,000 miles in first year. All's good apart from the rear tyres that have worn out on the inside very badly, they had done 45,000 miles as original tyres but could of got a few more thousand if it wasn't for the uneven wear.
Has anyone else...
