Tyre (; Arabic: صور, romanized: Ṣūr; Phoenician: ??, romanized: Ṣūr, Greek Tyros, Τύρος) is a city in Lebanon, one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world, though in medieval times for some centuries by just a tiny population. It was one of the earliest Phoenician metropolises and the legendary birthplace of Europa, her brothers Cadmus and Phoenix, as well as Carthage's founder Dido (Elissa). The city has many ancient sites, including the Tyre Hippodrome, and was added as a whole to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1984. The historian Ernest Renan noted that "One can call Tyre a city of ruins, built out of ruins".Today Tyre is the fourth largest city in Lebanon after Beirut, Tripoli, and Sidon. It is the capital of the Tyre District in the South Governorate. There were approximately 200,000 inhabitants in the Tyre urban area in 2016, including many refugees, as the city hosts three of the twelve Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon: Burj El Shimali, El Buss, and Rashidieh.
I’ll be soon looking at some new tyres for my XPOWER and wanted to ask what would be the best choice?
So far I’ve narrowed it down to:
1). Hankook iON Evo (£160 each)
2). Bridgestone Turanza 6 (£135 each)
3). Michelin Primacy 4+ (£168 each)
Would anyone recommend these or another?
So had my 2nd service and each time it goes in they put the tyre pressure to 2.5. I forgot to check this before I left.
On the door frame it’s says the pressure should be 2.2
Is it written somewhere else that it should be 2.5?
Hi all, Silly question and I know I should have checked when I was in buying it, but does the facelift car come with a jack and wheel brace as well as the tyre repair kit, or not?
Just need to know whether I ned to buy a full spare wheel kit, or just a wheel.
Thanks.
Given the MG3 Hybrid is a little rocket ship off the line on battery, I was wondering about the wear on the front tyres. Has anyone reached the point where front to rear tyre rotation has become a good idea? I doubt this is a normal MG service action, but correct me if I am wrong, and besides...
Hi! I tried changing to winter wheels today on my MG4 trophy extended range. The winter wheels are 215/50 R17 size and seem to be pressing down on the calipers in the front. Is this size too small? Manual tells me it should be good. Thanks in advance.
I know there are some threads on here regarding tyres, but thought a current, all-seasons thread would be useful.
That being said, anyone know what the best options are for the MG4? I see the following:
Michelin Cross Climate 2
Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6
Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons (Gen 2...
I bought it from someone here when I bought the pre-facelift MG5 and it has never been used. It fits in the spare wheel well.
I've no idea if it will fit the new MG5 I am collecting next week but I no longer need it.
It isn't MG but is, I think, a Volkswagen/Audi part but I was assured it will...
Hi,
I cannot think of any reason not to act but thought I would check first... I tried the complimentary MG4 tyre inflator and I'd have been better off asking a geriatric asthmatic with an aspirating chest wound to inflate my tyres. I assume the emergency kit will work with any tyre inflator...
My FL has done 20,000 miles and the fronts look a little worn at the edges bus still have lots of like left in them. The rears look almost new. So, I'm thinking of swapping fronts to backs. I have a small trolley jack and some axle stands. Is there anything I should be especially wary of if I do...
Hello everyone,
We've had a thing this week where one tyre deflates itself from 37 to 30 PSI (1.9 bar) pretty quickly, then stays there.
Can't see any obvious issues so possibilities are: 1) an issue with the valve or 2) a really small hole that closes itself up once the tyre deflates to...
Hi to all....just a quick one.
For the first time since purchasing the car in Feburary this year, I'm going to add pressure to the tyres....they are a bit low near 2.4 bar.
I have not had any pressure warnings yet.
Settings should be 2.5bar/37 psi all round. Yesterday my dealership advised me...
Morning everyone,
I had my car's first service this week. It's done a little over 8k miles and the two front tyres came up as an advisory at 3mm wear each. Just wondering how other's have faired on here as I wasn't expecting as much wear. My tyres are the factory supplied Maxxis Bravo. Is this...
In the manual it says :-
Note: After changing the tyre position or replacing a TPMS sensor and receiver, the vehicle needs to run at a speed of 25mph for about 10 minutes to correctly indicate the tyre pressure value at the corresponding position.
Has anyone tried this out? So far I haven't...
Hi all,
Just quickly, the MG compressor that came with my car was pumping up my tyre for about 2 minutes when it stopped working. On inspection it blew my 12v fuse.
In contact with MG awaiting a reply, kind of ridiculous, must be a faulty compressor or if someone else can enlighten me why this...
Hey All,
When I got my Xpower I set the tyre pressure to the recommended 37psi as specified in manual and didn't think much of it.
So after 3000km I decided to check the wear on my Bridgestone Turanza T005 EV tyres and was surprised to see uneven wear.
Approx 6mm in the centre grooves
And...
I bought my ZS earlier this year with 8,000 miles on it from a dealer in the Midlands, on collection they couldn't find the service book and as. the service manager was on holiday they would forward it on. I had an issue with the tyre pressure snesors on the way home, I was told to contact the...
