The HS has the GS6 1.5T, this uses a timing chain.

Its a member of the GM SGE engine family (small gasoline engine), a codevelopment of GM And SAIC, and all versions are chain dirven. ALso, at least the lack of online horror stories, one of the less problematic engines mechanically, also no horror stories of lengthening chains or generally too thin chains. Let alone a wet belt. Exciting, record beating economy on offer or overly refined engine it is not, but its simplicity certainly helps elsewhere.
