My MG ZS EV Exclusive (2020) has started acting a bit odd recently it keeps coming up with 12v battery low warning and a few times has not started due to this.
I have been able to get the car started by briefly plugging in the charging cable what is fine at home but not when out (not yet had it been an issue when out)
I have disconnected the battery and waited a few minutes before reconnecting and it’s still causing issues.
Does anyone know what else I should check or should I do a MG Assist call out with the AA as believe they are able to replace batteries.

One thing to add it had its service mid July and issue started about a week ago but the radio has been acting funny since start of the month but this has fixed itself by the battery reset.

I had this - called out the AA when it finally wouldn’t start after using a big battery booster - as it recovered before… AA said the voltage far too low for a recharge and said he could replace it but it cost over £200!!. As I couldn’t wait, I paid it but you can buy your own battery for a lot less and do it yourself in about 15 minutes. All you need is a wrench/spanner (10mm I think)) disconnect the two terminals then the free it from the cradle and put the new one in. Some posts here recommending online purchases for ZS EV Gen 1. I haven’t had a problem since replacing the SAIC battery and I do very few miles to keep it charged properly, so use a battery maintainer to keep it charged.

Take off the -ve black terminal first. Replace it last. Don't forget to put Vaseline or electrical grease on the terminals.

My son got one of these when the 12V failed in his LEAF.

Same problem over here. MG is supposedly working on the issue. An initial attempt to resolve the issue by replacing the infotainment module failed last week.
You enjoyed trouble Free service for 5 years now. Nothing lasts for ever, please I suggest get yourself a New battery and relax another 5 more years. My honest opinion.

Thank you for your honest opinion.

- I haven't enjoyed a free service for 5 years. - The car was only built in 2022... ;-)

- The first thing I did when my 2.5-year-old battery problems started was to replace it. - Unfortunately, without success...

- Since the beginning of this year, I have been living with the unsuccessful repair attempts by my MG workshop (replacement of the infotainment module e.g.) and the inadequate attempts at explanation. The blame is now supposedly being placed on listening to the local radio station based here, caused by the RDS signal.

Shame that the car is often being let down by poorly educated mechanics that can't pinpoint the issues ...

I bought a brand new MG Hybrid earlier this year and a few months ago the 12v battery low warning message kept on appearing every time i started my car or left it parked.
Logically i knew something was draining the battery but couldn't work out what until i remembered i had a Dash Cam fitted a few months ago and even though the engineer who fitted it said it would only come on and work when i switched on the car i wondered if even though the car was switched off the Dash Cam was still taking power from the 12v battery.
Anyhow i turned off the Dash Cam by pushing the small button on its side and as if by magic the 12v low battery warning message stopped appearing.
My advice to anyone that has had a dash cam fitted is to turn it off whenever you park your car, it worked for me.

I fitted a new dash cam into my MG and for some reason it didn't turn itself off even when i turned off my car engine and therefore i kept getting the 12v low battery warning message.
I couldn't work out why the 12v low battery kept flashing up until i turned the dash cam off with the button on its side and only then did the 12v battery low warning message stop flashing up.
The dash cam was obviously still taking power from the 12v battery even after i had switched the car off.
Do you have a dash cam ??
