Hi guys! I am new to this forum and this is my first post here. I hope i am at the right place.
I bought brand new MG S5 Trophy two months ago. Lovely car, i am almost happy with it.
I noticed one strange thing today whilst driving. I was behind a lorry and was coming to a stop at traffic lights. When the car nearly stopped, i noticed at the reflection of the lorry that my Daytime Running Lights started flashing yellow!!! After full stop, they changed back to white colour. I will include a link to a short YouTube video from my Dashcam to show you what i mean, as it seems i cannot upload videos here.

Does anybody know what was that??? Some weird safety feature?? Or electrical glitch?
It was not emergency braking and i didn't touch anything accidentally in a car. And i think it was only DRL that were flashing yellow, not my mirrors' indicators and hopefully not rear indicators.
I don't know has the car been doing this before or not but today was the first time I noticed that and to be honest it doesn't look right to me.

Hello @Armani, welcome to MGEVs, is it the same as this?

Hello Clive, thank you fo your reply. Yes i think it might be the same. Can this feature be turned off? Flashing lights might be misleading for other drivers.

You probably can't turn it off, you'll have to press the little car button at the bottom of the screen and look through the various settings.

It can be turned off in the MG Pilot screen. You need to turn off Rear Driver Assist and unless you save the setting in custom settings it will switch back on when you restart the car.

I suggest you tap the information icon (i) because it also turns off several other features.

It could be that the vehicle behind you came in too fast towards you. Its called Rear Collision Warning and states "Alarm Mode . When there is a risk of collision, the hazard warning lamps on your vehicle flash to warn the vehicles behind".
