Hi,
I'm wondering whether someone could do me a massive favour? I had to remove the cables from the charging ports out of the PDU to replace the slam panel on a recently purchased (previously crashed) MG5. I did this 10 days ago and discovered yesterday just before I had to dash for a flight that my car no longer accepts fast charges. I'm a bit concerned that the one bit i forgot to photograph was the orientation of the two cables that go from the charging port to the PDU shown here:
I think the glands on the outside of the PDU are red and black corresponding to the positive / negative cables. Would someone be so kind and check on your car which way round they are? My car's left near a fast charger at the airport with 5% remaining and I've got a 140 mile drive back to Dorset on Thursday, so it'd be great to know if I've got the orientation wrong and might be able to change them round and charge it (assuming it doesn't need a new fuse!)
When I did the work on the car previously I'd raised it up, but another follow on question is whether it's possible to get to the manual service disconnect without the car jacked up?
If I have that orientation correct, is there anything else that's likely to have caused the (4 different) fast chargers to have failed to connect? The car is out of warranty and fast charging worked before I carried out this surgery, so I'm assuming it's something I've done!
Huge thanks in advance!
