Everyone talked about MPG, then litres/100km, then kwh/100kms ..... but what really makes an EV stand out from the also using the road, energy cost/100kms .....

Those of us with solar, get our charging for free, so I guess the cost would have to be calculated on what we didn't get by not putting the solar energy back into the grid but rather into our EV batteries.

Worth exploring do you think? Great ammo for the next ICE lover who wants to put crap on EVs .....

Ahh you’d gloat on the other side of your face if they could leave a funnel in their fuel tank filler and fill with rainwater. Mind you the way some go on I think they’re sure that’ll be a “thing” when technology catches up.

It was the basis of some brilliant scams though, even the Qld premier and minister for roads were caught in the con by a self proclaimed Dr Brown and his revolutionary Brown's Gas ..... the secret was the whole under floor and boot were jam packed with batteries, along with a trailer that was sold on the concept that it proved it produced enough power from water to even tow the family caravan ....

I mainly charge when the export is worth $0.04/kWh, just need to convert to equivalent liters of petrol to get a comparison.
According to a USA site 10liters petrol = 1kWh. so in effect I'm paying 40c/liter, a lot different to the guys at the bowser paying close to $2

Nothing that technical, $$ per 100km will be enough, then translate that to the local pump prices if you want to convert it to ltr/100kms
