A few things about the IM5

Great thanks. Got a standard range on order through NHS Fleet Solutions. Seemed a bargain. Looking forward to it. Opted for the white interior, which again it seems to be hard to find opinions on. Pretty much all youtube videos have the grey.

Morning. Ordered a couple of weeks ago but haven't been given a date yet. I was hoping for late January but appreciate this may be optimistic. Will be replacing an Audi Q4 (bang average car) and will sit alongside our VW iD7 (fantastic car).
 
Can anyone who has an IM5 tell me what the audio system is like? 20 speakers sounds good on paper but I'm struggling to find any real world opinions. Thanks

Hi all, quite enjoying my ride. Quite a few odd things but gradually getting used to it. One thing I was keen on sorting - is there a charging record? Nothing on the app. Does the car store past history? Be nice to know. We're still working out running costs. Using our Octopus Go overnight rate of 8.5p,/kWh and getting, at the moment, 3.3 miles/kWh, that works out at 2.6p/mile. I was disappointed with the efficiency but then, it is winter....full lights, heating, AC, full pilot nav & music ! 😄

You need to fiddle with the copious configurability that’s available to find your preferred tune. And then, it’s a genuinely nice system - especially so because of the quietness of the cabin. But out of the box, it was wooden and dull.

Does your home charger not provide these stats?
 
Again, true but more and more charge points are contactless payment and don't need an app. I wonder if it's possible to interrogate the car via OBD2 to get the data :unsure:
Usually cheaper to use an app with the discounts etc on offer.

Also you could automate it with software if you got email receipts to aggregate your data into a spreadsheet if you were that way inclined. I'd probably just use Power Automate.

Plus you know, the 80/20 rule right? I bet more than 80% of charging for most people is at home.
 
Getting used to the jam jar now. Someone on here was wondering if a hard copy of the manual would be a good idea? I think it would be a good idea to re-write the manual! I was thinking that the indicator didn't do the usual 3 blinks if you just slightly hit it. It's infuriating when you try and cancel it & it puts on the opposite indicator! Ah, but I persevered - it does work but it needs a very gentle touch😤😂.
Other niggles? I wish I could customise the display - I will never use .... Apple play, Spotify, til tok....for example. I also use my phone for music & navigation.

Yeah, the 3 seconds thing takes a very gently nudge. I had to do it a few times with the car parked to get used to it. The other niggle I have is that there is no way to set a shortcut to call a number. The phone app on the car itself is useless, so I have to "OK, Google. Call ___" every time. I live in a street with security barriers on either side that I need to call to open. Another disappointment, and admittedly I never would have used it to begin with, is the YouTube app on it. It's just the mobile version of YouTube website (m.youtube.com). I found it hilariously bad that they've done that.
