A few things about the IM5

Just taken delivery of my IM5 and have been unable to get the indicators to stay on!
A brief flick will give three flashes and then off - as expected, however longer presses also only result in three flashes. No matter how long, or how many times, I press the stalk for, I only get three flashes. Bug or am I missing something?
I bet you just need to be a bit firmer pushing the stalk up/down.

That's a bit odd. I often find I can't get them to stop. Maybe a press & hold?

My indicators work as expected on my IM6.

Well, been driving for a day now, not far but have tried out a few of the functions and gimmicks and am generally mightily pleased so far.
I have solved the indicator issue, and as @MG Clive suggested, I just wasn't pushing the lever far enough. I have had two little niggles so far though.

First is a mystery rattle from the boot area as if something is rolling around there. Each time I turn a corner or go over rough ground I'd swear there was some object loose there. However, the boot area is empty and there's nothing loose under the boot floor.

Secondly after trying the One Touch Escape function (moving out of a tight parking space successfully), the lower screen kept the displayed image of the car with a button labelled "Pull Out" which I'd initiated the function with. I could not get rid of that screen no matter what I did. No matter where on the screen I pressed (including that "Pull Out" button) or how long I pressed for, I could not bring up any other screen. I even pulled over and got out of the car and locked it, but it was still there when the car rebooted. This persisted for around another 10 miles of driving, when eventually the bottom line of buttons reappeared and I was able to get off the screen. I have no idea if it timed out or I accidentally hit upon the way to exit the screen (I was looking ahead and just poking away at random on the screen without looking at the time).

I may have to get back to the dealer about this. I know he won't know how to solve the One Touch Escape issue (don't ask) but hopefully a technician can trace the loose item.

The MG4 commonly has rattles from the boot, although something rolling might be different.

Forr example, this post says "adjusting the rubber bump stops on the side of the hatch opening can help."

Yes. Mine had a rattling noise when I went over bumps or the car twisted. This was a badly adjusted boot lid rattling on the catch.

I was able to fix it by adjusting the rubber bungs on the lid to push it out slightly. The problem did come back a while later, so I permanently removed it by wrapping some insulation tape around the relevant part of the boot catch.

However, I did not have a "rolling" sound, like something was moving inside the boot or boot lid. Such as sound would be more likely to be an object in a cavity somewhere.

Well, that's disappointing. Not a problem with the car, but with fitting my car mats.

Seeing has how the car mats I bought from carmats.co.uk for my MG4 were a good fit and wore well, I decided to get mats for my IM5 from them as well. Unfortunately the retaining bushes (the plastic slotted items which the driver and passenger carpet retaining clips fit through) have been installed 90 degrees out, and so the mats won't fit over them. Can any other IM5 owner have a look at their carpet clips and let me know if yours are the same way round as mine, to confirm it's a mat issue and not a car assembly problem please?

I think that is standard with these ‘safety’ features.

Have you put an SD card in to record the video? If so can you tell us what it records. That is just front or does it include rear and/or 360 deg?
I bought two IM5 cars and they arrived on Friday - took ages to find where to put the XSD cards (in the centre box (tiny slot between USB ports), but found that they don't like cards from other dash cams and that the "format" is Fat32. I tried reformatting my existing cards, but it didn't work.
I "resolved" the issue by inserting two brand new XSD cards and letting the car software format the cards.
They only record the front camera and only record when you're driving and when you're sat still for a short while. I haven't checked how long it films when your car is stationary.

Well they are nice mats with the mg IM5 logo
Well, because I bought two IM5s at the same time, my wife was given a new set of the IM5 mats and I was given the set out of the demonstrator in the showroom (as they didn't have any more). Can't complain, because it was something my wife was asking me about the night before picking them up.
