Hello, l had a strange thing happen today while driving up the road in the car (MG HS hybrid plug in 2024) l had gone a couple of hundred metres when the infotainment screen went off and an Alien came on the screen and waved?? l feel silly writing this as it sounds so bizarre. After this happened all sounds went off including the indicator sound but everything else was working fine. l stopped when l found a safe area and turned the car off and restarted it and everything was working as normal, all sounds back again and the alien had gone. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this before? Many Thanks.

Looked a bit like ET. l am hoping someone on here has experienced this. Our last car was a Kia EV we had a problem with a turtle appearing on the screen there! it must be us!

Didn't look like this by any small chance ?.

it was an animated cartoon of a little chubby space alien wearing a helmet and waving his finger at us (it all sounds silly l know) All the noises went off including the indicator noise.

l have had a bit of a google and the only thing l can find online is an animated robot dancing MG racing man that apparently appears sometimes when the infotainment screen is turned on. (so the helmet must have been racing and not space, it was only on a few seconds) Why it happened while l was driving and the screen was already on and why all the sounds went off indicators, door sounds etc l do not know.

Aarhhhh ........ Maybe the info unit decided to reboot itself on the move then ?.
That may explain why all of the "bongs" etc were triggered then, some of the modules coming back on line .
Another one of life's unanswered questions I guess.
