Amazing.

MG (and many other Chinese makes) used to be there in the Tesla app ... a recent update removed them.

But as per above, set your vehicle to Other / Other and then the Charge My EV button on the home page will only show Open To All sites. :)

I think I understand now. You have to look for Tesla sights that say in their heading, EV OTM.
Stands for a company called EV On the move.
Basically means more than just Tesla superchargers are on the site.

No, EV OTM are just chargers supplied by Tesla, so look like Tesla SC and operate through the Tesla app, but are not Tesla, and hence cost more than Tesla.
Provided you have set your vehicle to a non-Tesla in the app then any site that you see on the map you can use, EV OTM or not.
It is quite simple, no need to overthink or complicate it. :)

As per above (and my previous reply) ... ALL you need to do is setup your car in the Tesla app as Other, and then when you tap on the Charge Your EV button on the home page then you will ONLY see open to all Tesla sites. It really is as simple as that. :)

(Make sure you add a payment method in the app too - starting/stopping charging via the app can be handy, plus at some sites with V2/V3 superchargers you will NEED to use the app anyway; only V4 superchargers support contactless payment).

Whilst I've had time and wifi etc I've been downloading charging apps. Amazing I'm up to 16 so far!
Can you imagine having 16 apps for petrol stations, plainly this situation makes no sense.
However that's life these days.
I've got double that number and rarely use any of them, It's fun though, right ???

Sounds like Musk and Trump.

Mmmm, the contribution from me about EV OTM wasn't the while answer as someone pointed out. So I did as they said and registered on the Tesla app my MG, as other! Is this the whole answer? I found the sites were still only showing Tesla or EV OTM. However you can then look a site up by name on the general internet to find out whats there.
What a palaver.

I'm slightly confused, perhaps we are misunderstanding each other. The Tesla app shows the sites you can use and operate as a non-Tesla owner. That is some Tesla sites not all, plus the EV OTM sites. Showing sites that you can't use, i.e. the Tesla only sites would be pointless if you don't own a Tesla. You only use the Tesla app if you want to find and use a Tesla charger.
There are basically three types of EV charger apps.
1. Charge network specific. Such as the Tesla app, the Gridserve app, Instavolt app or the Ionity app etc. These show you where their chargers are and you can use them to control the charging.
2. Multi network apps/cards. Such as Electroverse, Zapmap, Shell that show you all sites, and also the ones that they can control for charging These can be used on most sites all over Britain and Europe for most networks, particularly Electroverse.
3. Apps/webpages that show all chargers of any operator, used for locating chargers only such as Charge Finder and Chargemap.

Apologies if I have misunderstood what you are saying and have oversimplified this.

No worries, as is usual with me, my Tesla app does not appear to say which of the Tesla sites supports other makes. If you could, a screenshot showing this would help me. But no problem if you can't. All the best, John.

It will only show open to all Superchargers unless you add a Tesla.
Use Zapmap and filter to show Tesla only

I'm really struggling to comprehend how you're not understanding this @john1000uk ... it really is as simple as we are all saying. Register your car in the Tesla app as Other and then the app will only show you open-to-all Tesla supercharger sites; if a Tesla supercharger site exists but is not open-to-all (such as Gretna Services* on the M74/A74M) then it won't appear in your app (but will for a Tesla owner).

* Gretna Gateway Outlet Village is open-to-all, but it is just outside Gretna village itself - the ones at the services are a separate site.

Agreed, If you are on the app as a non-Tesla owner it will show the sites where all makes of cars can charge and nothing else.

I know that there is a Tesla dealer next to the Merc one. But as I have the app set to other, it is not showing.

Fair enough I was interpreting open to all Tesla superchargers as only Tesla not ccs etc. Such is life. Thanks for all the advices.
