Anyone done any consumption figures on the IM5

Had my IM5 standard model now for six weeks and through the weather conditions encountered so far averaged between 2.7-3.1 miles per kWh on mixed driving conditions and journeys, mainly town and rural, no motorways.

Playing around with regen between options I get the best consumption with regen off so not entirely convinced on the benefits of regen. The IM being such a heavy car will freewheel for great distances so does take a little driving getting use to judging the slowing distances etc.

I’m assuming come warmer months to greater miles per kWh but how much?…….

Would be interesting to hear what other owners are getting in consumption terms.

With the long-range, it tends to average around 3.0 - 3.8 so far.
Kept in 'comfort' range with 'regen' set to 'standard'. Mostly urban driving with a bit of rural roads but no motorway roads.
When I top up it won't top up beyond 342 miles, which doesn't sound good but it is either:
1) winter
2) I've been sold a 'standard range' model. Let's face it there is nothing externally so show which is LR and which is SR?

The car should use regen when you apply the brakes where available. If you slam on the brakes then it will need to use the friction brake so supplement the motor braking.

In theory lower regeneration should be more efficient, particularly on fast roads. Better to maintain a constant speed than regen and then put it back in to accelerate again. There will be a lot of losses involved in recovering and then re-using energy.

Overall it just depends how you drive. Smoothly accelerating and braking (like a limo driver) is generally more efficient than slamming on accelerator and brake in turn (the racing driver method).

If you are only averaging 3.0-3.8 then 342 miles sounds right

It's good to know we're about OK. I have been so looking forward to seeing over 400miles of range.
My old BMWi3 should have been 180 miles but dropped to around 140/150 in winter. Mind you, as a slower driver I did manage to get 220 miles last summer. Does this mean I might even get beyond the published 441 miles in the summer?

I can charge up to 100% the stated 304miles on my 7kw home charger but usual set to 80% which is sufficient for my requirements. I’m aware of the 80% battery protection mode when rapid charging.

Absolutely no chance the car is getting 400 miles in winter, and doing a fair bit of motorway driving in the summer (at speed limits) and you probably won't see 400 either.
Doing mostly town and under 60 mph should get it though
