I returned to my car today and had to open the boot first. As the car was locked it did its usual unlocking of the boot only, and I assume total unarming of the alarm system etc. As I closed the boot, my partner pressed the passenger door button to unlock her door. On getting in the car I put my foot on the brake and pressed start. However despite all screens illuminating, nothing happened when I selected reverse. I then noticed that although the start button was green, the display was showing engine warning symbols and no "ready" indicator. I tried several times to cycle through shutting down and restarting, but nothing happened. As it was hot, I tried to open the window, and then noticed I had no power to them either! I wondered if the system had become confused as I had closed the boot (and re-armed the alarm etc) just as my partner unlocked the door ( and unarmed the alarm etc). So I exited the car, locked it using the key fob button, unlocked again, got in, and all was well. Car started again normally.
Anyone else had this? If not, and you get this issue, you know what to do! The car is going in the garage again next week (ongoing issues mentioned in "The saga continues" thread, so I'll mention it to them just to check it was what I think.
Still loving the car though!
