Anyone got the dreaded seat tear on Mg5 2021

Hi all just wondering if anyone has had the driver's side seat tear on the leather in the MG5. Mg has said that it's not covered under warranty and it's £190 for a replacement cover, I fell off my chair when they said it's £336 for labour.

Anyone had to tackle this issue and get some prices from other garages

I have read some threads regarding seat wear in MG models. The photo below was taken from an advert on AutoTrader - the car has done 127,000 miles. Not sure of the year but it is a long range version.
Obviously I have no idea how the vehicle has been used, for example as a Taxi or just a single high mileage user.

The drivers seat wear in the photo looks reasonable.

I would post the advert but I am not sure of the Forum Rules regarding posting an advert. It is with an MG Dealer and is up for £8,390.

I had mine start cracking and splitting at 14 months 6000 miles
Mg said it wasnt only covered for 12 months by warranty
I looked for a second hand seat for about a year or so couldn’t find anything
I paid £184 for the cover an £8 for some hog rings off amazon
It took me a couple of hours to do
No sign of any wear and it’s been in over a couple of years now

There are a few pasenger side seats on ebay (£100 -150) but seems a shortage of driver side seats.
Pleased to report my 5 year old Mg 5 Exclusive seats are still looking ok . I wonder sometimes if seats from a VW Passatt or similar might fit ?
