Archev's adventures in the Berlingo

Not quite, but nearly a sonnet...
;)
Latest addition to my rough wild camping equipment is the smallest air fryer I could find at 1.7 litres I think it is. Just made myself a slice (actually two half slices to make it fit) of simple toast as my trial cook.
I made a ciabatta loaf last night on the octopus 7p rated power. I usually enjoy a wee handful of assorted toasted seeds in it but didn’t have any. The loaf I took to Applecross was laced with a handful of olives and was delicious but that was the last of the olives. So last night’s bread had sultanas chucked in and this is what made the inaugural air fryer toast and was served with a wee scrape of ginger preserve which I picked up at the Green Welly emporium on Friday en route to the Fort William Tesla chargers. Absolutely delicious!

Sounds very nice @Archev, a poet and a cook. (y) ;)

Wow. And I haven't even used my induction hob yet. I bought it at the last minute and hadn't bought anything to cook on it!
I’m actually using mine at home as well so that I can take advantage of the overnight cheap power collected in the power bank.
It worked a treat last Saturday, induction hob plugged and heating some soup, the phone and the bug zapper/ tent light charging on the usb sockets, and at the same time the solar panels plugged in and basking in the rays stuffing a good bit of power into the bank.
I set the panels up just after nine and met my Daughter at the other end of the site for a coffee. Then at lunchtime I repositioned the panels and finally again after going for a walk I turned them again to collect the last few watt minutes the big ball threw down.
I still had loads of spare energy available in the car battery to pass to the power bank via the cigarette lighter socket if required.
I think you’ll like using the induction hob but I found the pot or kettle sliding off due to the highly polished surface.
A silicone air fryer “dish” for a couple of quid used at the interface cured the problem nicely. So I can safely leave stuff heating without continuously checking it.

I reckon there is a book deal to be done there? Jamie Oliver is always on the look out for niche cooking techniques and getting them into print before Christmas , then a new Channel 4 series. On your toes and beat him to it.

Behave yourself, it was just a slice of toast.

Ice car people.

Come, pity those poor peasants
They know not what they do
For once, like them, in ignorance
We burned the oil too
Given time to come around
I’m sure they’ll see the light
And prod that right hand pedal
And enjoy a helluva fright
They’ll see in that split second
What we knew all along
Electric power’s nicer stuff
And of course it does’na pong

They’ll then return in pious mode
For they were always right
Spouting they were biding time
Or some such other …?…absolute nonsense

The clever Salmon

A salmon on a ladder?
Now that is quite absurd
And just about the daftest thing
I think I've ever heard
It's hard for us as humans
To climb one with two feet
So scaling one with fins and tail
Now that's an awesome feat
It surely must be quite a sight
Just like an assault course rookie
You'll be tell us next they climb it
For a bit of fishy nookie!

I’ve now had the e Berlingo for eight months and covered just over 8000 miles. I am luckily very happy with it but I’ve just found out that its value has plummeted by almost exactly 50% according to the dealer’s figures.
Wow that's a bit of a shocker mate, on the up side though, it's got to drop very little in the next few years, I assume you're planning on keeping it a while?

* EDIT * Or is it a case of, you'll have to keep it now.

Aye it’s a hefty drop but as you say hopefully won’t drop as fast in future 🫰

I thought Archev had bought it second hand. But fair play, I like new cars too and I pay no attention to depreciation because I'm not selling anyway. I just enjoy my purchase.

Just like you, decrep, there were no second hand MG4s available when I bought mine. If I'd waited (assuming I'd had some way to wait, I was carless) I'd have missed out on a lot of fun.

Jumped in the flash mobile and asked for Morrison’s by Waze. The only Morrison’s she knew was in Ottawa a bunch of thousands of miles to my west, was that the one I wanted ? No said I, the one over at Alloa will be fine. After arguing with electronics I asked for just plain Alloa. So she’s taken me to Clackmannanshire.
Ye cannae win.
Crappy menu. I plumped for a breakfast (all they seemed to do)
Lorne (flat) sausage- says it all - 😢
