Archev's adventures in the Berlingo

You can't reform, idiots. Not coz they don't like EVs. That's their choice. Just that type of person, can't be told. Even if something is absolutely obvious and factual, they still won't have it.
There's an EV "fact" thread on another non EV car forum I still go on. The shite, spouted on there is unbelievable. 🙄🤪
It's crazy really, because the main 'fact', is that probably 99% of people who have had an EV, would never go back to a slow, smelly gas guzzler.

That’s 15 posts since I said I’d joined the “Berlingo” Forum. We’ve had some banter back and forth here but I’ve had nothing more over on the dark side.

Out dated information and opinions. Someone obviously hasn't seen the interview Rob Llewellyn did with Nigel Williams at the National Grid.

And as for hydrogen . . . where do they think it comes from?

@Archev - maybe you could post the link from #611 on the French forum, as clearly people don’t understand how hydrogen is produced, and how inefficient it is.

I found it interesting, and will give me much needed information the next time someone tells me that ‘of course, hydrogen is the future……’

That’s a grand idea. I’ll check out the forum tonight and see what’s happening. The put down I got extolling the virtues of hydrogen came from one of the mods but I’ll see if there’s any “traffic” on line when I get home. Hydrogen would be lovely if it really worked and buckets of the stuff could be scooped out of a well.
Personally I’m investigating going upscale with the old Meccano number one clockwork motor I have to this day in my box of the construction set I built up between 60 and 70 years ago. I’m certain twenty winds of the sturdy big key could power me five miles and wouldn’t need any infrastructure to recharge - just wind the key some more.
Or it could be motorised using a wee lawnmower engine to wind the key 👍🤩🫣

Really hectic on the French Forum today. One response of one line. So I’ve not posted anything - I’ll wait and see when / if they wake up first.
Big adventure tomorrow I think. Berlingo to Linlithgow then bus or train to Edinburgh. I’ll have a wander round Princes Street and High Street etc.
the forecast looks good and the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe has started.

We're going on a little jaunt today, heading up to Richmond, the real one in North Yorkshire, probably have a wander around the castle. Then may pop over to Tan Hill Inn for a spot of lunch. Have fancied going there for some time as it's the highest pub in Great Britain. Possibly walk that off around Brough Castle a short hop away, then home again so expecting about 170-180 miles ish today.
Charged the car up to 100% overnight and woke to it telling me I had an extraordinary range capability. No way will it achieve 346 miles but I'm expecting close to if not making 300.

That’s rather nice. Love the range there.
Your day out looks like a very fine trip with a high end lunch 😉 enjoy

I’m anticipating an approximate mileage of six in total with the car today. The rest will be either by free diesel bus with the pensioners pass or by smooth quiet electric train for £9.30 instead of £14.00 with my senior railcard. Tough choice to be made there. Will I be an eco traveller or just cancel dinner for a couple of nights 😱.
The Berlingo has just over 80% battery so no problems there.

The decisions and choices we pensioners have to make 🙄
Yeah I could just drive. Into Auld Reekie and park but where ? And for how much ?

OK bus it is 🤩

My day is sorted !
