Slightly OT, but I see a number of references here to owners at least considering attempting the NC500 route. This morning's BBC news website has this article which is worth a read, at least!

I think I'd stick to the Tesla's, I prefer Maccy D's coffee to Starbucks.

I prefer a cafe that is right next to the chargers, rather than a mountain trek to get food.

It'll be great when it's done, it's the doing that's the problem. I heard about something similar in the Pennines last year. They were blaming electric cars, of course.

Yes.

I'm currently in the Perth Starbucks. Nice bacon quiche and you can probably see how close Caliban is on his charger. The app thinks he's asleep so I suppose I'll have to go back to figure out if I have enough charge yet for the 111 miles to the Inverness superchargers.

Made it to Dores and got the same camping spot as before. Currently on 90% SoC with a forecast nighttime low of 4°C, so we'll see how the battery copes with that. Mind you, last night's forecast low at home was 2°C and the actualité was -2.3°C, so who knows what will happen.

The guy at the supermarket was a right nuisance- kept pushing and shoving so we dealt with him.
Then couldn’t do our shopping - turned out he was the manager with the key
