Auto radio/music sound reduction

Anyone found a way to prevent, or change the level of, the automatic reduction of the sound levels in reverse?

It's probably one of those safety features that can't be overridden, when you're reversing you need to concentrate more, and be able to hear the reverse parking sensors, not loud music from the radio.

I find it more distracting when it is turned dow so it can only just be heard. I would far prefer to be able to set the level.
