Must say I had never used a system like this until I purchased the MG HS PHEV and have to say it worked perfectly and just left it switched on doing its thing very efficiently.
But the same thing on the S5 sucks. It is slow to react, blinding oncoming and leaving me blind afterwards, it also turns off full beam when turning a corner and virtually stops working in the rain.
Can't understand how they can get it so right on an older model and stuff it up on the newer car. I hope it's just a firmware upgrade on the sensor but I'm not holding my breath.

Definitely in need of a 1.1 software update to fix a few things like this.

I wish they would put the code on github and let me put the car in "dev mode". I could fix most the issue in an afternoon :D

I'm sure you could but I dread to think what other people would do with that!

You do a thing called "pull requests". So you write the "fix" and then the code is reviewed before its accepted. So if this ever was a thing you would have protection against this.

Its quite a normal development practice.

Saying that, I guess if the car was in dev mode you could get your own car to do all sorts of silly things :D Oh this sounds fun :P

I feel your pain. I bought an Audi A6 in 2012 when all this technology was brand new. It worked gloriously well.

It is so, so much worse 13 years later.

This is most true of ACC going from radar to camera. It doesn't work in poor vis, and is not good on unlit roads, it does emergency stops for parked cars, it is barely usable. In the Audi it was faultless.
