Automatic windscreen wipers

I picked up my brand new ZS EV today, in the pouring rain. I used the wipers on manual. Now I want to set them back to Auto but the handbook is a bit confusing. Anyone offer some help?

On the same lever you can turn the part near the end of the arm, you’ll see some lines on the rotating dial.

Some times the wipers can get a bit confused and become a little erratic in their operation.
If so, I find turning them completely off.
Then back on again, clears their heads !.

dont think you can adjust the sensitivity for the auto, only the delay time for the slow/delayed mode

I do believe the auto wipers are also speed dependant.
The faster you drive the more frequent they wipe.

I had success with the auto wipers this week. Knocked them up one notch, as mentioned above, then turned the inner twist dial towards me, till the shorter (intermittent?) line was selected - the one at the top. They then changed speed as the rain got heavier, then slowed down again as it eased - it was not speed related.

I've always been of the opinion that the wipers do their own thing most of the time. It's about the only thing I don't get on with in the car.

There are bit like the trolleys ? at the supermarket, with a wonky wheel.
They have a mind completely of their own !.
Do what they like, when they like ?.

When I first switch on and its raining the rear wipe also switches on alongside the front wipers but I've never noticed it do it again yet the front continue intermittently , is this normal?

The rear wiper will automatically engage and wipe the rear window when you select reverse, if the front wipers are switched on.
