Battery charge reading and km reading

When I got my 2025 HS Phev in January 2025 I could charge the battery to 100 percent and it would show 100 kilometers, A few months later that dropped to 99 k on a 100% charge, now in September of 2025 it shows 98k on a 100% charge.
Does anyone know why and, if so, is there a remedy or will it get worse?

This is normal. Many people I know have experienced this, and I am experiencing it too. I recommend a balancing charge; there's a chance it might fix it.

Thanks, but how do you effect 'equalisation charging'? I only charge from my domestic outlet at 10amps, any higher blows my main fuse.

@tazlaw69 - As far as I can tell, all you need to do is keep the car plugged in for a few hours after it has got to 100%. So let's imagine it got to 100% at 2pm in the afternoon, leave it plugged in (and 'charging') until 4pm or so. During these 2 hours it will have been drawing some power and refreshing ('equalizing/balancing') some electric cells in the battery.

I believe that (historically) the best advice is to do this "extra" charging using a slow charger (e.g. granny charger like you and I have).

• However, battery and car technology is evolving all the time, so I would not be surprised to find that this kind of advice becomes superseded over time.

Personally, I'm expecting my range to slowly decrease over the several years I expect to keep the car. I'm hoping it'll still be at least 90% capacity when it reaches 5 years old. I find that (like most things in life) it's best not to assume perfection, and put up with slight disappointments!

Discharge your car's battery. If you're charging with 10 amps, let it charge for 20-23 hours. Remember, this isn't a definitive solution; it's just a suggestion.

Hi, on my hs phev purchase on January 2025. I driving usually on ev mode now the estimated range is down of 1mile at full charge battery? It is normal? There's possibility to change icon from mileage to percentual? I had 10000 miles

Thanks for the responses. I note the advice of continuing to charge after 100% has been reached. However, the car automaticaly stops the charging once it has reached 100%!and I know of no way to overide it.
Any other ideas??

Although it shows 100% it will still be doing the equalisation process. I noticed I sometimes get 74 miles showing with 100%, but on occasions I leave the car plugged in for hours it’s fully charged and it shows 75 miles again. I am using a home charger, not a granny.

I bought my ZS EV in March 2025 and a full 100% charge reported a range of 188miles. In the last 2 weeks this suddenly reduced to 158miles - a considerable drop. Have tried the suggestions above but cannot get it above 160miles, even after leaving on charge for 4hours above the 100% - I am home charging at 10amps. Anyone got any further suggestions as 30miles is a significant sudden drop
