Battery NMC of MGS5 EV...

I think all newer EVs have a healthy buffer for battery capacity.

From what i can tell, and from what i have been told by numerous people, there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

There is nothing wrong with charging your car to 100% when you need, just dont let it sit for days/weeks fully charged without use.
The same goes the other way, there is nothing wrong with driving it down to 10%, just dont let it sit like that for an extended period of time.

The thing is that SOH degrades at such a slow rate, that by the time it has any impact the car will no longer be in your possession (or even in use, it will be scrapped).

One needs to take all advice (including this one) with a grain of salt. But my impression is that the people who scream if you charge regularly to 100% are not so well informed on current battery packs, and more stuck to how they were in their infancy (much lower, or no, buffer etc). Fortunately this thread seems to be filled with advice akin to mine.. :)

We have noticed with the MG ZSEV mk1 NMC battery that charging (on a granny charger) it to 100% overnight then using it in the morning had no detrimental effect on battery State of health after 40, 000 miles. Only 98 % SOH. So I would assume the same for the S5 trophy long rang
