MG3 Hybrid+ Trophy
When I purchased my "Pearl Black" MG3 Hybrid+ Trophy last year, I paid to have the ceramic protection for the paintwork. I cleaned the car today, and there was a large bird dropping on the front of the bonnet. It couldn't have been there too long as I hadn't noticed it. I cleaned it off using the ceramic shampoo and noticed after drying the car that there was a mark left on the paint. I tried the cleaner supplied by ceramic for bird droppings, tar etc etc, but it made no difference. Does anyone have any experience of removing this mark? Or is it there permanently despite the protection I had applied?

All advice appreciated!

Thanks.

It will have eaten into the lacquer. You may be able to get rid of it by polishing, or using a light cutting compound, and then polishing. Plenty of YouTube videos on how to tackle this sort of problem. Alternatively, seek professional help from a detailer, or paint correction specialist.

I always ensure I have spray for removing bird droppings on hand, and deal with it quickly to hopefully avoid this problem.

Apply heat, (carefully!) over the area with a hot air gun or a hairdryer. Spend a good 5 mins keeping the area over and around the damage hot, most of it will disappear.
