Hi, I watched the Ch5 program the other night and I'm upset because my car would have killed the dummy man stood in the road.
Do our cars not have this safety feature?
If they have mine not working or not set right.
If this crash feature working on your car can you tell me your settings, seems to be several settings could be involved.

(y) My settings that have worked well for 40+ years are:-

a) keep looking out of the windscreen and concentrate.
b) on seeing dummy man (or woman) standing in the middle of the road apply pressure on brake pedal with right foot.
c) if you were going too fast or not concentrating, use the wheel in front of you to swerve.

(I hasten to add that I have never had to use option (c) when encountering dummy men or women in the road).

Mine works too well, always braking around bends, when unwanted.

Keep resetting to minimum level, but after ignition is switched off, it reverts back again.

Embarrassing when a vehicle is behind you, and suddenly your brakes temporarily slam on.

Glad to hear it works even though you personally do not like it. pdm1

Seems you are in a position to tell me the working settings to have mine set to.

On the home screen, go to settings (car icon), then to "MG Pilot" scroll down to front collision assist, then you can change the mode to alert or braking, then you can also change the sensitivity, low, medium, high.

Every car manufactured after 2022 must have an Autonomous Emergency Braking AEB system fitted as standard. How the system is implemented by each manufacturer and how well they work is down to individual circumstances for each situation (e.g steering input, pedal input, radar sensor, camera sensor, proximity and speed of crash-able object).
