Car scanner and obd2

Car scanner has the mgs5 profile and seems to show plenty of info including battery soh. Using a new Vgate iCar pro OBD2 dongle. Far easier setup than the MG5 was a few years ago.

Not sure if this is related but my smart keys are not being detected an hour after I unplugged the adaptor.

Well that was weird. I tried all sorts to get the smart keys to work, even the app stopped working. With first one key in the car, then the other, BT on and off. No errors on car scanner but cleared faults anyway. Nothing worked so I decided to try the battery disconnect, took both keys out to the car got in and it just turned on (laughing at me), never got as far as the battery. Now the app works again though not all items on it, e.g. I cannot start the AC or heating but it will now let me use keyless start.

Strangely it would always lock and unlock via the keys and phone but wouldn't turn on even with a key on the backup position.
Maybe it needed to see both keys to reset whatever?

The data is there but it doesn't populate the dashboard.
I'll try re-installing the App and if that isn't successful, maybe I need to try a different OBD2 adapter.

Under the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel.

Above your left foot, you'll need to feel around for it, tight against the plastic of the dash.

Both my adaptor and the app were new so could be, more likely the app though.

I was thinking of cutting the little tab that holds mine in, because I found it was really difficult to remove after I had finished with it. You can get a flat screwdriver in there but the friction is enough to hold it in place I think.

Just finished reinstalling the App and purging all of the existing user data.
Good news is it now works

Now that I've seen this, I notice that your boxes are not fully populated. My screenshot is from a default installation so did you modify yours?

No but I didn't try to set anything up either, just chose the mg4 profile and went with it.
