Charge cable release.

Just did a small modification to my MG5 as I had an incident with a locked charge cable in town the other day and had to remove the cover to get at the cable release.
see photos below. I just tied a bit of nylon cord to the release pull and threaded it through the windscreen washer refill hole. I have locked it down under the bonnet arm just in case it decides to pop back under the cover. I did check it and it does work ?

Reminds me of the fuel filler cover release on my dad's old skool 1963 or thereabouts Skoda Octavia.

This magical remote release was a big 2 turn split round keyring on a length of nylon monofilament sticking out of the offside cabin interior lining by the back seat. Agricultural or what?

Great idea thanks for sharing. I’ve had the release issue a couple of times. It’s supposed to unlock on the fob but I’ve noticed opening the door and doing the bonnet release actually released the plug???
Strange but worth checking before going to the bother of removing the cover to emergency release.
