Did your S5 clock automatically go back an hour this morning (UK)? Mine didn't!

I went into the SETUP screen and changed the Auto/Manual switch selctor from Auto to Manual and hey-ho the clock dropped an hour to the right time....... isn't this arse about face? 🤔

I checked my MG4 a bit earlier and it came up as summertime, was just going into the menu and it changed, so maybe it needs time to boot up first.

Auto, and I noticed after I'd been driving for half an hour.

Not checked my car today.
Hey….. That’s reminds me, if you are on a cheaper “off peak” rate in the early hours, then this is important of course.

My first car ( Morris Marina ) had an analogue clock which never worked. It did however have an aerial in the roof above the windscreen which could be used as a sundial. That was always a bugger to change twice a year!!!! 🤪
Hope you had a compass to point the car in the right direction? 😁

Had to set my HS PHEV clock to GPS syncing and it adjusted to GMT. Hope it happens automatically now!

It would seem that twice a year you need to go and flick DST. In my opinion, it's pathetic, with all this technology, that they can't do it automatically, like every other bit of tech in the house...

I know. People's lives are so full and busy that they haven't got time to left swipe and change a setting twice a year. Much better to have it done automatically so they can spend the time saved looking at one more post on Faceache 🤣

Our S5 never automatically reset the time clock either, I only spotted it a few days ago, when I came to use the car.
It was extremely easy to just enter the settings screen and then manually correct it in less than a minute.
Okay - My IPhone did it automatically itself which is great, but almost every other time 🕰️ piece in the house ( included the cooker ) required the normal manual adjustment anyway, so no big deal really 🤷🏻.
My wife’s Fiat 500 also needs manually correcting anyway ? ( note to self it still needs doing 🤣 ).
Don’t you just feel like me, that we have become a little to much reliant on things doing things for us automatically these days ?.
Great when they work of course, but we then “kick off” when there is a glitch !.
Have we really reached a stage now in life, when we can’t spare even 30 seconds to adjust a clock anymore ??.
Dear me !.
