So anyhoo I went down to my dealers about a few intermittent issues ( intermittent is the big issue ), very supportive and informative visit which I thought may be useful to share with the forum.

Appointment was booked after I experienced the problem with the tailgate not opening to the selected height and then not closing, but had some other issues:

No display of surrounding vehicles in the intelligent information cluster.
Passenger side mirror not folding when vehicle locked.
Mirrors not adjusting to saved settings of seat positions.

Right, intelligent display issue is not intermittent, it’s constant, we took the dealer S6 demo out and did a back to back drive with mine. It registered and displayed surrounding vehicles, motor cycles, cyclists and pedestrians, mine didn’t.

Tail gate, well following the recalibration technique flungd on this forum mine was working perfectly, techs tested it 50 times it worked, ironically, the newly arrived S6 they had in the showroom had the same problem but I was able to sort it for them. 🤣

Mirror issue did not show it self during my visit.

So where do I go from here? Well following being plugged in to the dealer computer, no fault codes. Without a fault code dealer cannot do any warranty work.

Dealers techs have carried out an in depth download of data from the car which they will send to MG with details of my issues, we shall have to see what happens with that.

I’m working through where I go from here, have some thoughts, we shall see.

The "no fault code, no warranty claim" is a worry

It’s MGs policy it seems, no codes no payment to the dealer, they could have simply run the diagnostic, found no fault codes and sent me on my way, they didn’t, was there two and a half hours while they tried to replicate my issues which they couldn’t and then took full scans of the car which they have sent over to MG for analysis, at this point they are not being paid for warranty work, if MG come back and say no issues, they won’t be paid.

Another reason for finding the right dealer.

"Mirrors not adjusting to saved settings of seat positions"
I don't think it does that, cant find it mentioned in the manual

Definitely a 1st world problem  Sorry, didn't mean to belittle your problem, just thinking about what constituted a warranty problem when I first started in the automotive trade ....12mth or 12,000 miles, and that was a big selling point, pre 1970 .... roughly 1968 here in Australia, it was upgraded from 90 days or 4,000 mile/6,500kms to the 12mths/20,000km warranty by the 3 big manufacturers, Holden, Ford and Chrysler and Leyland Australia, although Leyland Australia only lasted until 1974 ..... more than 90 days was a long time to expect a Nomad or P76 to keep going without something breaking, 6 mths would have been an extreme, so 12 mths or 20,000kms was just too much
