Did you have any regrets buy an EV before current fuel price hike ?

+1 on all the above.
I wouldn't go back to ICE, at least for the daily driver.
EV just works (now that the public charging network improved to a certain point in coverage, reliability and payment systems).

I did my research and thought that EV seemed to be viable for me. But it was recommendation from a petrol head friend, who is on his 2nd Tesla. He was also a complete convert.

I do have a petrol kit car. And if I do the camper project I am considering, then that will probably be diesel. Unless the costs of used EV vans with big batteries comes down to my budget.

Do you have any regrets buying a Ev till current price hikes in fuel till the war

None whatsoever. But, to be fair, the Skoda Yeti I got rid of was so frustratingly fault ridden (not to mention VW's emission fraud software) that I'd have been happy to have bought a soapbox car. The EV was a fantastic bonus.

Even better, I escaped from Arnold Clark (World Domination) plc...

Like everyone else who's replied here, absolutely none at all!

Although at the moment I'm driving an MG3 Hybrid+ as a loan car whilst my S5 is having its T-Box replaced (and that's another story!) and I do rather object to the fact I have to buy petrol!!

Absolutely not. Made the transition from ICE to EV with a Mini Countryman PHEV, 2 years later got my first EV, a gentle transition with the MG4 X power, oh what a hoot, health issues meant a change was required, MG S6 picked up in January, being in Northern Ireland we don’t have March and August reg changes we just start with a 3 letter prefix and once we get to a thousand change first letter of the prefix so reg year is more important.

No regrets going EV, no regrets going MG especially as we installed solar last year.

Must admit, I was definitely in the, "me an EV, never! camp" but 18 months ago, i was ready for a new motor. So did me homework on EVs, and thought that should suit my needs, perfectly. An when I discovered the X Power, that was it, no brainer. And would absolutely NEVER go back to ICE. 🙂👍

Bought mine in Nov 2022 when diesel was just over €2 a litre and public charging was 40 cents (35p) a Kwh. Was a bit annoyed when diesel came down and public charging went up (I can´t charge at home), but even then it still worked out cheaper, and by that time I didn't care anyway because the car was so much nicer to drive and so much better all round. Luckily here in Europe there is no problem with finding public chargers and it's not expensive. For 5.99/month I can charge in Germany for 49 cents at fast chargers and 41 cents at my local 22Kw charging station (700 Meters away).

Absolutely no regrets, better experience than I even expected. Cost savings are solid and in reality can only get better, as the last three weeks prove (subject to mileage fees!!)

Only caveat is my use isn't significant with little long distance runs, I would still have AC charging concerns in the UK. I paid £50 for the Telsa update, which was effective and would be my Charger of choice.

I've a house in France and the AC charging is circa half the price of UK and much better availablity, unfortunately I bought the ZS LR as my UK vehicle but will home charge 99% of the time.

I've been driving EV's for 7 years now and loved every day of it. This week I had to hire a van for my offsprings house move and hated it. I asked the young lady if Enterprise had any electric vans in their fleet. She said they had a few but people didn't like them because of the range. I did say tongue-in-cheek, "what, you mean this deisel van has unlimited range and never needs fuel?".

"No, of course it needs fuel."

"Oh, same as EV's then. Did you know there are more rapid chargers in the UK than there are petrol stations?"

:)

First switched the "wife" car to hybrid, going from an Audi S3 to a BMW 225xe Performance. Although the BMW has 40 less hp, it's almost as quick as the S3. Must admit that I miss the handling and fun of the S3, but nothing else.

In January I've had enough of the VW Passat. Don't get me wrong, I loved the car. Big, comfortable, well equipped etc, but it was 12 years old, and things start to add up, and when the left rear coil spring broke, while the car was parked in the garage, and I had to change them outside in the driveway in - 22 degrees, that was the final straw, so I ordered the MGS6.
