We often think how much easier we had it when we were young, so life must have been better then ..... from there we seem to believe that life before things got so hectic and wars seem to be the only thing we seem hear about ..... or how bad our health system is ..... add your own attention grabbing headline .......

Watch this, at around 1.5 speed so you don't want to punch the screen with that annoying speak inflection at the end of each line ....

Not really. If I'd lived even 50 years earlier I'd be blind now, instead of having excellent vision thanks to cataract surgery. As a woman my life would have been restricted in ways men can't even imagine.

Even ten years earlier it would have been much more difficult to get into university to study the course I wanted, and I'd have had to get my father to sponsor me to get a bank account.

Sure, it's fun to imagine what it would have been like to live in different societies at different times - as a healthy young man in a reasonably high social class and not actually starving. That wasn't most people though.

I'm not so sure I fancy the future much either, the way things are going. I reckon there would have been advantages to me from being born three years earlier (I'd have avoided the pension age trap while still having a decent shot at vet college), but I'm quite sorry for young people these days.

In the future for me if I could choose.

Knowing my lucky it would be more like the film minority report than subserviant

Ps. Edited from Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets as that was controlled by tyranny

Who is that person narrating the video? What a weird way of talking.

As L.P Hartley said in The Go-Between, "The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there".

If you could go back and visit the past instead, what advice would you give to yourself?

Sometimes I wish I could go back to my childhood, but still knowing what I know now ..... but then I think about how easy it would be to slip up saying something I shouldn't and the whole time line would change .... after a lifetime of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, I know I'd stuff it up

Not to get associated at all with the first bitch woman I ended up marrying and have a kid with, things didn't turn out well for her sadly, so I could have saved her that horror ..... That would probably have helped me not getting involved with the second one .... but who knows .... it could have been just as bad but with different names and faces .....

The first thing I would say to myself is; "stop screaming. Yes I'm you from the future".
Then I would say; "stop crying. Yes you lose your hippy hair . . . deal with it".

But seriously, I would tell myself that there is a reason I am the way I am, and in the future Asperger's will be a recognised syndrome and I wouldn't have to wait until I was 58 for things to suddenly make sense.

Oh, and those flairs . . . really?
