EMG MG Ipswich - MG Dealer Discussion, Opinions & Experiences

I stopped using them. Reasons:

1. The previous (excellent) manager has left. They hired some spotty youth who knows everything so much so that he was most condescending when he told me my MG5 didn’t have a front camera.

2. I did call them (twice) about booking a 2nd service but having left messages with a human, my call was not returned.
 
I had one prior experience of a satisfactory Mitsu service & so had no qualms about seeking to test drive an MG HS in late 2024, with a view to ordering. The test drive was ridiculously limited, there seemed to be a lack of product knowledge, organisation & teamwork within sales, so another dealership got the order. I gave some honest feedback, & then soon got sick of repeated follow ups. Maybe things have improved since, but I'll still travel to go elsewhere for servicing.
 
First service of the zs ev was done here today. I think they did well making it seemless
 
I reported a fault to them at the end of November the day I picked up my S5 EV, they tried to do a software update a few days later, but it seems it had the latest software. They said they would have to contact MG. The service guy agreed to call me with progress on a particular day, no call. I rang MG direct and they said there is no record of a Technical Case being raised against my car.
 
The T box on my car failed in early Dec. The car was serviced (1st service) mid Jan with them knowing was a T box failure but still they needed to order the bit.
I wasted a day today delivering the car & collecting it with nothing done as MG had sent the wrong part. The guy infront of me had the same experience but for the 3rd time.

They did though upgrade some software.
I'm not sure if MG are the problem (I suspect so) but I am heading for 3 months without an essential safety feature, sat nav or an in car phone that works.

I suspect you are right that MG are the problem and not your dealer.

I too am waiting for a replacement T-Box. My dealer thought MG would deliver to them "in less than a week"; 3 weeks later they are still waiting! Apparently, the dealer also has another car in the workshop similarly waiting for a replacement T-Box.

What are the issues that mean you need a new T-Box?

Because I have several times experienced the 12v Battery going completely flat! All the dealer's diagnostic tests have found no faults anywhere but MG themselves have suggested replacing the T-Box.

I live in hope!
 
I have a warning SOS call not working plus it has lost all connectivity so no mobile phone microphone, no sat nav, weather or ismart
