I bought some plastic storage boxes the other week, and I discovered one was exactly the right size to cover my home EV charger, so I set about making this. I know these chargers are meant to withstand the weather, but this gives it a bit more protection from the wind and rain, and from fading in the sun.
This is just version 1, there will probably be modifications to it next year. 😊

Nice idea, I don't know but does it need any ventilation for when it's in use ?
I don't think it needs ventilation, but it's certainly not an airtight fit, there's a couple of mm gap all the way round, and a cut-out at the bottom for the mains cable. It has to be open when in use, so it's ventilated when powered up. 😊

Good idea, but few thoughts...
a) how does it look when the cable is attached?
b) does it vibrate when charging between about 6.8kW and 7.4kW?
c) expect a knock on the door from the SAIC patent attorneys ;)

It looks like this, the plug and the wall box are both protected from the rain etc. while charging. 😊

No, there's no vibration whatsoever, just a slight humm, which I'm calling a characteristic. 😁

If they come knocking, I'll plead ignorance and send the send them to the decal manufacturer. 😂
