Numerous cars have suffered from emergency braking issues over the last few years.
As with other faults it is how they are dealt with and the speed they are rectified in that they will be judged on.

As far as Interiors go the Highlands cabin is a massive upgrade from the previous 3, the minimalist look may not be everyone's cup of tea but it is quality.

Sorry but it's cheap as chips, in any case, I am not talking about the quality of the various cars they test. I am complaining about the bias of the channel and the testers. If there is a Tesla involved in the mix it always comes out on top. I have watched many of their so called comparison reviews and to mention only briefly that the Merc can only charge at 800 volt charging stations (how many are there in your area?) is crazy. Why test the car? probably it was the only one they had available.
Channel is a waste of space. I don't know why I still watch it, I think it was because of the MG in the mix.

A couple of points spring to mind you are right about their tests, they often don't really test like for like either sometimes putting up performance/dual motor versions against LR single motors makes no sense.

Curious to your cheap as chips comment and you then saying your not talking about the quality of the cars they test.
have you been in/have access to the new Highland? It's not everyone's cup of tea but it is in no way cheap as chips. It is a vastly improved car from previous 3s I have a neighbour who has recently picked one up and it's cabin is far superior to any MG I've been in and comparable to the IM5 I took for a spin, in terms of comfort, quietness, and quality although as I said very minimalist)

I am not a Tesla fan boy and agree re what car but I do think people now like to bash Tesla because of Musk.

The easy answer as you said is just to ignore the channel

It's a clear case of driving too close to the car in front, even at speeds <30mph.

Anyone might emergency brake at any time for any reason. The fact that it shouldn't have gone off doesn't change that.

If a proper gap had been left between the cars then there'd be no accident - so the current insurance situation (driver behind at fault) is correct.

And I am a bit amazed that motoring journalists don't realise the potential for this and don't disable these systems when they do tests like this.

I am not a fan of overpriced Mercs either. My grandson just bought a Tesla last week, have not been able to inspect as he is in England and I am in Germany. The more I see of Tesla problems on YouTube the more convinced I am that there is far too much hype about the car.

MG owners can't really take the moral high ground re musk and his politics, when SAIC is a state owned company and you look at the apparent issues involving the Chinese government, including the guy who got caught by Ice in the USA and may be getting kicked back to China, despite being the whistle blower who filmed the vocational education and training centres that the Muslim population are apparently residing in (various horror stories about what is happening within them)

I recall that Mercedes made an early investment in Tesla that stopped it going bust in the financial crisis. So maybe they should be blamed?

Not sure any car makers are especially "moral" are they?

Which is why I find it funny that people are having a pop at Musk and Tesla and then buy an MG, just buy what you want
